I simply don't believe you were in the darkroom all night. You must've had help. Those are great shots and the subject matter couldn't be better. Nothing I like better than seeing a whole bunch o wankels lined up for parade. Wish I could've made it. That yellow 79 is a gem.

Thanks for the comments on the photos guys, taking good pictures is easy when you've got a good story to tell.

Paul I do have help in the darkroom, one scantily clad assistant who is a lot of fun at 1 am.

I've had plenty of darkroom time but never with a scantily clad assistant. I'm thinking you sent them to Fotomat and developed other things in the safelight!!! Lends a whole new meaning to STop and Fix doesn't it!!? Great pics Ray.. You have a good eye for composition...then again anytime it's an Rx7 in the pic it's already perfect composition isn't it?

I got good news today on my claim for the trans fluid incident on the way here from Ohio. They're picking up the tab for a full blown exterior and engine bay detail. Per suggestion from an earlier post I'm on my way to ProShine now to set up appointment for the works! More on that later. Damn I wish I could've made last nights meet.pixs were so good I feel like I was there.

Well guys took it to ProShine Detailers for look over...Not impressed. Taking it Savannah car wash on Monday where they have a couple guys that specialize in all day "one offs" of interior/exterior Detailers. They'll clay bar it and buff clean/wax. Should be AOK. More later.

Too bad you don't live up this way. The GOOD detailers where I work are top notch.

Are there oil marks or some sort of stains on the paint? What have these detailers done so far? I've got a friend who's recently gotten into the detailing business so I can ask him what can/should be done if u'd like.

Actually the car looks ok to most. I'm just picky and pissed that I had it properly detailed last fall, stored and brought out for the trip only to have that happen. Pic shows what it looked like after I rolled it off the trailer. I still see the film on the paint and I can feel it too. Again most people would not. Since I paid for the extra insurance I'm going to get a new detail out of it.just makes sense to me. but I'm not letting a bunch of amateurs do it either. Headed to CarSpa this morning for talk w them. Fingers crossed

CarSpa it is. He's the real deal as far as I can tell. Near west side old Savannah.

On another note I just PM'd Carlos to find out when we can get together to figure what the loud noise is in my front end. At highway speed (50-55 and above) it develops a resonant noise so loud that it's hard to talk over it. Wheel bearings are new and just about everything replaced a year ago. At 70 when I push in the clutch and coast it's still there but different. At certain speeds the resonance is so radical it vibrates the **** out of the instrument cluster. It's possible that it's the tires. In an effort to stay stock, rims and all I bought the only tires I could find in that 205 60 14 size. They're called ( don't laugh!!) Nankang Toursport 611. They look great, are not directional but the sipe pattern does look like it is. Only ones I could find. I read a few reviews on them and recall one guy complaining they were the loudest tires he ever used. I bought em anyway. I'm hoping that's all it is but if that's the case then I may have to consider going to 15's (50's) with new wheels(rims) if that be the case there goes the stock look and I'll have to also convert away from the 114.3 lug pattern too. Never F'ing ends does it(?) Always wanted a set of Panasports with gray centers and chrome outer rings. We'll see what Carlos thinks when he drives it. It's very annoying.

I hope that's mostly water that I see everywhere on the car and not oil!

Yes.. It is.. It had just rained when I drove it off. The trans fluid mixed with dust/dirt and rain does make it look worse. The place I'm taking it is old school, plus he's keeping it three days. Clay bar all over again along with buffing cleaner and wax should get it all back. Engine bay being done as well along w interior. The trans fluid pretty much negated the shine along w me washing it with Dawn to get most of it off. Carlos coming Monday to check out the noise. Could be anything at this point. More later. Can't drive it anymore till we get to the bottom of it.

I figured out that whenever I drive it hard, it pukes coolant out of the overflow... It's happened once more since the meet.

Just got back into the country from my Honeymoon. There has been a lot to catch up on but it has all been very entertaining reading everyone's antics. Looks like the meet went well! Its always good to see so many rotaries in one place regardless of engine configuration!

Sorry for the bad tip toolguy, I have only ever used them for interior work but have seen cars come out of there looking pretty good.
CarSpa always seems to get good reviews but I have never spoken to them personally.

In either case I can't wait to see the pics of the finished product. Hopefully I can get my paint reworked in the near future as well!

On another note, the U joint replacement did not fix my rear end noise (I believe the rear end is about go go kaboom) but fortunately one of the guys on the facebook page said he has one with all new bearings and a good diff that hes willing to part with for free if I can get it to Savannah.

Only in the rotary community do offers such as these present themselves. Motorcyclist are a close second but not to this level!

In the process of rediscovering the rear end noise I did take her out for a quick wash and ended up snapping a few pics.

No tip given in good faith is ever a bad one. I just didn't feel like they specialize in older cars. I appreciate sharing your good experiences. Congratulations on your new marriage.!! Hope the honeymoon lasts a lifetime!!

Never seen that SA before, looks like it has Potential however. But Cathy would not be pleased.

Paul I think Tim has the solution to your transmission fluid problem, you just need to get out there with a pressure washer:

Mr. Nix, that SA is looking very good, we can't wait to see it up here in Buford (along with Paul's SE)
