Old guys with 12As club meeting
That dude has been trying to sell those times for a while, I talked to him a while back. He's on AMOC on facebook. Its not a thing, I just love teal lol.
And technically, it would have to be an '88 Vert thing Ray 😊

The second SA is roadworthy after a new gas tank, reworked fuel lines, rebuilt carb, new points, plugs, and condensers. The brakes required a new master and the booster had to be replaced. The engine runs really well and drives good too. I have been driving it to work this week to check for problems. I have also switched out the out of place plus wheels with some SA appropriate ones, (it seems they were an odd set that did not demonstrate the OCD affect, so they had to go) with new tires, so it looks like it will be able to make it to Deals Gap. These will be replaced later with the Hmmmm good waffles Tim is contributing to the project.
However, it appears that extensive work will have to be done which will start after Deals Gap. I have decided to strip it down (ala Ray's white car) for sand blasting and metal replacement, to deal with the rust. It is a little worse than I originally thought. Looking for a donor car, if anybody knows where a SA shell is let me know.
If it had been up to me I would have probably passed on this car, but since it is a gift from my kids I don't have the heart to give up on it. I will do whatever I have to to get it restored, it will take a while, but It will be worth it in the end.
Ray, I am really envious of your rust free chassis, you are lucky to have a rust free place to start!
I spoke with the media blaster guy yesterday who says he will do the blasting for $40.00 an hour, I may also get him to powder coat some of the suspension pieces. I have the welder all set up and I am practicing my butt welds and researching techniques on how to fit patch panels, seems there is more to it than you might think.

Not really a new one, just a good one from my stash, my bad.
A source for new ones would be nice, however I did find a place that will completely renovate them for a few hundred.

Glad to hear it's coming together well, hopefully the rust repair isn't too extensive. Are you bringing both of your SA's to Deals Gap or just the new one?
I'm ALWAYS in my DD. #TrianglePower. I'll be there tonight around 6:30 making sure everything looks good, first meet with my new stuff! Still have to find a way to get my hood home though....
walmart score today. had quite a few of them. never was able to find a white one to go with the black and blue ones when they came out in '12. those had the #20 on them and stripe work on the hood. anyway, thought i'd share.

and this one's ready for year #5 at the gap.
