Really now, there's no need for miatas, RX-8s, FCs or a 300 hp AWD (Brett, did you really say that?)

Time to discover (or rediscover) the sweetness of a Nikki-fed 12A in a nice light weight SA or FB. [/URL]
I still plan to keep the FB, so I'll have use for my rotary key chain, but after driving this, I'm want something with low end torque pretty bad... The extra doors and rear seat are a plus, too.

I ordered a cheap compression tester so I won't touch the FC just yet... But my gut tells me that it lost a side seal, and I just can't justify putting any more money into it with all the problems it's got.

Stick with the rotaries Brett, that car will get you in trouble with the Rotary Gods and the State Police both.

Not mention our buddies in Pendergrass.

^^^ No reserve, decent looking example on eBay.

If anybody is looking for an FC, I know there's a S4 white vert for sale in Mt.Airy, NC. I keep driving by it sitting in a used car lot.

140K , $3,500 asking price, but I happen to know it could be had for much less. :-)

Brett, you need to pass on that Suby and get yourself a another nice 1st gen. Then you'll have a matched set.

Sure has been quiet around here...

I test drove some nice cars this weekend. Almost drove an '11 EVO but it wasn't on the lot just yet. While I was waiting on the salesman I did snoop around a new GTR, it was pretty interesting. Then I drove a 2010 MazdaSpeed3- the price was right, the interior was nice, and it was pretty quick, but I couldn't get over the FWD and how it took power going through a turn.

I saved the last drive for a 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX, and I'm glad I did. The WRX is the model between the regular Impreza and the top of the line STI, so it's like a juiced up family car but not too beefy. It doesn't quite hit the 300 hp mark like the older STI I drove last weekend, but it's not too shabby at 265 hp stock. Plus this particular body style is 5+ years newer, not that much more expensive, and still has a decent warranty in effect. The handling is very agile and it feels great accelerating in 1st gear. The interior isn't really fancy but it's nice enough. And I actually think I prefer the hatchback over the sedan...

Anywho, I'm getting into this because I did a compression test on the FC Saturday and the front rotor only builds compression on one of it's faces. It doesn't make sense for me to dump more money into the car when it's already near 200K miles and I'm not satisfied with it power wise. I'd like to have a ported motor or turbo, but since I can now afford a decent, reliable car, I'm going to get one. We'll still have the GSL SE and I plan on swapping some FC parts onto it, but other than that, I'll sell the good parts off of my FC and scrap the shell. An FD is definitely in the future though...

So this is my new wallpaper for the time being. I hope to get one of these in the next month or 2.

Not a bad choice for the family car there.

I like that WRX, especially in white!

I met up with a transporter tonight in Norcross to pick up my wheels for the widebody that I found in Miami. He had some very nice cars in his trailer!

I think I might have to check my self in to that group. I cant resist blowing all my money on a set of wheels that I don't even need. They are nice looking though.

Brett, I agree that the wrx is a good idea. A friend of mine got one just like that one about 5-6 months ago and he loves it. It even does decent on the track. Not quite as good as the 8, but decent.

Holy cow, how wide are those?? I'm going to throw out a guesstimate of... 14" wide?

Thanks, I think it's a good combo of everything I want. Family/dog friendly, not too expensive, good performance, looks good, pretty reliable, and it will even have a warranty...

Here's some more parts to add to your hoard, Ray!

I agree.

Alex, your wheels are really that wide, right? I mean, talk about floatation.

Brett, you picked the right color (white) and the hatch is right too (I love my M3 hatch).

But think about it. Suby vs 7? Who's prettier?

It's really not an issue, 7's are way less expensive, way more pretty and way better. Get an FB.

They look HUGE in your pictures... But then again, I'm used to little 7 and 8" wide wheels

Ray, you know you like that Suby... In today's weather especially!

alex, that's crazy. depending on the offset, if i tried to install these on my car, i would probably need to install flairs on top of the widebody kit!

lol that would look silly. I am afraid that the wheels might extend past the fenders, Not a big deal if they do. I believe BBS still produces parts for this wheel so it shouldn't be too hard to change width/offset.

these wheels did come off an old wide body SA that fit just fine, I'll post some pictures this weekend when I test fit them.

Tuesday is Feb. OGTA.

I knew once Brett got an FB in the driveway the FC's days were numbered.

Another FC meets an inglorious end

If anyone wants a p-ported motorcycle, one just popped up on Birmingham Craigslist. I highly reccommend it.

So Crit, you got a link for that bike?

I'm thinking I might need a little stimulation while I'm working on the White One II.

A 1 rotor, with only two wheels. Might work.

Also, why don't you have your 10 Rotor yet?

You're 4 months overdue.

Or did you do something to **** off the mods?
