Old guys with 12As club meeting
Wow Gene you are taking off! That rotary GTS should be good for 2 12A equivalents when you get it done. I have a driver's side door you can have, might be good for that SE. Is there any damage beyond the fender and door? If not it should be an easy fix.
Michael, how is everyone going to see it if it's under the car??

We're assuming when you put the RB setup on you'll also remove all the emissions crap as well. Since we know its a fallacy that its required to get 25+ mpg :-) Ask me how I know. Then we will be able to see the headers from the engine bay.
BTW, when I was in college a guy I knew took the good front half of a spitfire and welded it to the good rear of a gt6 to make spit6! Looked pretty much the same just had a big scar around the middle of it

SE body is totalled ,[ car is kind of U spaped] its drive train and suspension will live on in the GS body. probably will do this project first as the fab work on the GT6 is much more involved
Nothing like a clean SA. All washed and waxed for the meet up here in Charlotte. I'm planning on making it down there again. I want to hit up a regular Tuesday Jefferies one of these months.

The comparison video tapes are already on the agenda, but thanks for the reminders Brett and Holly!
Gene I've been thinking about putting in a high flow (magnaflow?), seems like one would fit as a replacement for the stock mid piece that fits between the silencer and muffler. Anybody know if this would work?
Thanks for the offer Mike, I will probably do it this weekend, should only take an hour or two (I've had the stock header and all the existing exhaust pieces off the white car in the last year or two so there shouldn't be any stuck bolts).
Michael I'll take lots of pictures before I drive it so the header will always look like its chrome is perfect. It does look nice and shiny, huh? And those tips are to die for.
About the June meeting, should we do a Saturday meeting and would this make it possible for some of our Carolina buddies to come down? It would be Sat/Sun June 7 or 8 instead of Tuesday June 3.

Well I have been following this thread for a while. And with the meets here in Mooresville being dominated by FB's I had to fall in with the crowd. On the way home from the last meet on Sunday. My girlfriend and I found this gem in the rough. Picking it up tomorrow. It started up on the 4th try after he had flooded it
It will take some time to go thru it all and make sure it is all safe and sound to drive, BUT we are stoked to pick this up. Sorry for the long first post in your thread Ray and crew. Hope to make it down with this one for a meet sometime soon.
I believe the front tires are the wrong size, it appears as the passenger side has grabbed the fender lip. Easy repair.

We have completed the family so to speak. 1981 FB Rx7 !!!
woot!! I am a little kid frothing at the mouth

lots of faded/cracked weatherstripping and window trim. Some tears to the door covers, seats. But for a 27 year old car I expect some of that. All in all it is in decent shape. 134=k miles all original. Even has the original sale window sticker..

First thing I will need for it is a header. He said he hit a raccoon and it broke the exhaust. That was a badass raccoon cause the pipe is broken right before the first flange and the cat air pipe is broken as well.
No biggie Picking it up/driving it home tomorrow. As he couldn't find the title while we were there. ( just called with it in hand once we walked thru the doors.

That Mooresville meeting was a big one, here's a video for those who haven't seen it:

Nice find Dave, that one should keep you and the wife busy for a few days. A little dirty but it looks like it's all there, should make an excellent car.
That raccoon must have been one of those cement lawn ornaments to do the damage he claims it did. Or else the exhaust was already rusted off before the raccoon hit. The tire in the picture is the right size, maybe the damage to the passenger wheel well is more raccoon collateral?
Holly, we do need to find you one of those, or maybe an SE because you are hooked on raw power.
So any takers for a weekend meeting in June? You guys up there in Carolina? We could do a parts swap and carb clinic like last time. Or should we keep it on Tuesday?
