Who is up for an after Christmas meet,my son is in town and hasn't been to a meet since Feb. I was thinking Thursday evening at the usual place . Post up who can go
The weather looks good for Thursday evening, but that would put us just 5 days away from the regular First Tuesday meeting on January 3.
The weather is more sketchy for 01-03-12, some chance of showers and generally lower temperatures (although a bit more daylight now that we've passed the solstice).
Could we change the date just this once? Holly? Kristy?

I'm there if Tim's there.
Thursday evening works fine for me, or maybe even on Saturday at some neutral ground up in the hills somewhere, say Brett's House? It's going to be sunny, in the 60's.
Hey Dudes, the 2012 OGTA Calendar is taking final form. Since getting Old has been a major issue for all of us this year we are including birthdays in next year's calendar, so that we all know just exactly which day each one of us is getting Older on.
The dates are a bit "dated" (I took them from the 2010 calendar) so please let me know if you want your Birthday added, corrected or deleted.
Nice year OGTA! Here's a look back, and a look forward:

Another great calendar of memories Ray. Small correction on my bday, its the 16th not the 15th.
I'll have to pass on the impromptu OGTA meet this week, I'm busy shopping for my bday present.
Happy New Year to the OGTA!

I'd totally be down for a impromptu mountain run- there's a good wing joint right at the end of GA-400 that would make for an easy meeting place for lunch... It's about 30 mins from Gainesville. And a 0% chance of rain on Saturday too!

Whats up Ray and all. Micheal and I was just talking about you guys and how much fun we have had when we have been able to get down there. I hope all you guys and gals down in GA have a very prosperous new year. Hope to see you guys soon, somehow just as long as its not because we need something.

Saturday is looking like a gift from the Rotary Gods.
Sunny, in the '60's. Middle of Winter.
Damn I love Georgia.
Should I work on Cathy to see if she'll make us something good to eat, some of that New Orleans stuff?
We could reenact that original OGTA Dec. 8 meeting back in '07 when we had the shirt sleeve weather:

Wow, I just saw all this. I drove right by there after work tonight and I would have stopped. Sorry Gene and Cory, but you know Ray can't make it out twice in a week. Saturday may look good, if Ray or Brent come up with a plan.
Happy New Years OGTA.
Ray, nice review of the year.

Sounds like Saturday would be best. Let me put up two plans, then we can pick the one that works for the most people.
Plan A: The fresh country air in Jefferson, GA, where you can smell a rotary fart a mile away. We would gather around 11:00 am to swap ideas, parts and stuff and work on cars, etc.
Then have lunch made by Cathy around 1:00, chit chat some more and get people on there way by around 3:00 so they can make their New Years rounds.
Plan B: Do similar timing but meet at the usual place in Suwanee, lunch at Jefferies, maybe with a little less wrenching around. Plan B would have the obvious advantage that a whole bunch of regulars could do a whole lot less driving.
We need to conduct the poll today, so if interested in a Saturday meeting please vote now!

Well there seems to be a distinct lack of interest in an end of the year OGTA get together so I'm going to cancel out Plans A and B above and suggest that we stick with the usual 1st Tuesday of the month routine.
It would be nice to see Cory while he's home from the military and any other OGTA's that may feel inspired to take advantage of the end of the year spring time weather, so if anybody has any ideas post them up.
In the mean time, Happy New Year OGTA!

If you're wanting to ride around the mountains I know a pretty nice circle that isn't too long. We could meet at the end of 400 and go from there if you wanted to: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=GA...sz=12&t=m&z=11
Well we had what may well prove to be the final OGTA meeting for 2011, here in Jefferson GA, the Rotary Epicenter of the Universe.
Cathy served up her special burgers for lunch, the weather was excellent and the 12A count was 3.5. Not bad for the last day of the year.
Happy 2012 Dudes, may the New Year find your trochoids aligned.
