Old guys with 12As club meeting
I don't much about carbs, but this seems like a good deal if the intake manifold/ carb aren't stock: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/pts/2604081300.html

spacing on a 12A. Can the carb be put on your existing 12A manifold? Thats
the question, but your nikki is probably just as good for now.
I can't make it this year, Dean. Hopefully next year.
Yeah, I saw it was for a 13B. I was wondering if the carb flowed better than a Nikki and, if it did, might it mate with the 12A intake manifold. I suspect it might flow better, but probably does not fit. Anyone know for sure?
The obligatory Nikki comment for Ray - "Of course, there is no better carb than a Nikki, but I was just curious".
Well yes Mike, I was about to point out the great overall superiority of the Nikki compared to the alternatives, especially when coupled to a well maintained rat's nest.
But since you're just curious, so am I. What's wrong? You having some issues with your Nikki? You and she having a little disagreement?
Even so, as Tim points out "your nikki is probably just as good for now" even if she is a little cranky. Until you get your rat's nest fixed up and reinstalled, that is.
Then we be cruising. Right on up to B3R next year.

The car is running great. Nikki is kicking out all the ponies she can muster and getting 20 mpg. The intake is about the only area left for me to "fix". I would like more horse power, but I like the look of the blue air cleaner. I am searching for down draft carb that I will allow me to use the air cleaner.
Gene, you sound like my wife, "it aint broke dont fix it". Thanks for the information.

Word is Robert is going to make it to the November meeting. So Ray, this is your notice to get your jacket in your car, schedule to go into work on Tuesday, November 1st. Then stop by the Twisted Tavern, or Twisted sister, whatever you want to call it and give Robert, Ray's proper OGTA welcome.
See you next Tuesday night Ray.

How is it that with everybody talking about the demise of the rotary we just keep seeing more and more FB's coming out of the woodwork?
Either they are spontaneously reproducing or they're being salvaged at a rate that is significantly greater than the rate at which they are being retired.
Be good to meet this Robert guy and pick up a few ideas from that beauty of his. And a blue sided silver topped FB sounds pretty interesting too.
I'll be there, taking lots of pics and once again contributing to the dominance of OGTA's over YGTB's.

That looks like great fun Tim, I'm going next year. If I'd known you were starting out from the Braselton Cracker Barrel I would have joined you guys for breakfast at least.

This looks like fun too. I can't believe I haven't seen this car, it's out of Lawrenceville. Somebody must know this guy!

you're so silly Ray, it clearly states in Tim's post that they started out from the Asheville Cracker Barrel.
