I was told there is a black. First Gen on the side of the rode on I20 near Six Flags.

It has a white passenger door, any one know who owns it?

Sound like my door. Nope I just checked, both doors from my light beige GSL are still out in the drive way.

I was afraid someone stole my car.

Black FB, check. White door that ray gave me, check. Lives by Six Flags, check.

Hey ray I need some more of those OGTA cards, I gave all mine out.

O and I picked up a new FB but it didn't come with the OCD option, maybe I should return it.

That white door is from Sexy Pants, I pulled it before they hauled the carcass away because it was still in good shape.

Sexy Pants now lives on in your car and in Mike's blue FB (he's got the wheels from Billy). I still have a rear bumper and gas tank from SP out in the drive.

What goes around comes around.

So you checked and your black SE is out in the drive, right?

What about this new FB? OCD's are easily fixed, you just need to wait for the right day to do it. Got any pics for us?

Did you guys end up selling that mint orange car your mom has?

I'll bring more cards to the March meet.

Is Rick Case Mazda inviting us out onto their lot? The last meet we had a Rick Case Mazda was back when the RX-8 appeared in showrooms for the first time. Then we were the SE RX-7 Club and communicated mostly via yahoo email list that still exists.

If you can arrange this on most any weekday night, we can always get at least 5 to 10 people to show, with not too much notice. Let us know.

Enjoyed lunch with Mike and Ray yesterday at Hunan. I just ate the leftovers for lunch today. We had 2.125 12A equivalent points.

Looks like a good one! A little elbow grease and polish and those X wheels will look fine!

Dudes, here's a Special OGTA Heads Up on oil prices.

Gas prices shot up 10 cents here in Jefferson last night, this after steady rises for the last three weeks.

With the GTX 20-50W engine oil I normally use in the Silver One running $18.99/5 gallons at the local Autozone (and likely to rise when the current flyer runs out) I decided to stop in at the Hamilton Mills exit Walmart on my way home today to see if I could get it a little cheaper - they usually undersell by a couple bucks.

I wasn't disappointed. Not only was the usual price of $15.50/5 gallons still there, for some reason the GTX products were on "Roll Back", priced at only $13.50/5 gallons.

We won't be seeing those prices again soon, if ever, so I stocked up with 50 gallons.

I bought 6 jugs of the 20-50W for the 7, 3 jugs of the 10-40W for the Jeep and MP5 and one jug of the 10-30W for the new RX-7 rotary lawn mower, plus some other items

They still seemed to have a pretty good supply, you might want to get some while it lasts.

Ray this is what's known as speculation. It is people like you that are driving up the oil prices.

Hardy-harr Mike, that's a good one! I chuckled for the next half hour, while I drained the old black oil from the seldom used Jeep and replaced it with fresh new GTX 10-40W.

You know how 4.0 liter Jeeps and RX-7's love their gas and oil. And you know how we speculators like to drool over our stock piles.

I think I'll stop in for some more on my way home tomorrow.

A long road comming but the engine is mounted and set. I got the fuel system, and ignition to finish this weekend, and a few odds and ends and she should be BRAPPING by monday. this is just a rough draft of the mounts, I should have them pretty here soon. SO.............. I got another ticket on the way home, I didnt realize that 74 in a 55 isnt a good thing oh well, the cop was cool, he loved the rx, said his grandpa had one just like it didnt know if that was a compliment or a insult lol. He told me that I just had to prove the speedo is off, and they will throw it out. He told me it would be easy to belive since the car is
28 yrs old, and I have had it for a short time..... anyone have any diffrent drive gears so I cn throw it off, get it tested and get this ticket dropped? lol On a good note, I got something in for the ol' FB today.

Looking good Andre! Nice job on that front engine mount weld.

You may be able to throw the speedo by putting some oversize tires on, if you can find something that will fit. That worked for a pickup truck I had back in Massachusetts, the officer agreed that having those big tires on the back might make me think I was going ten miles an hour slower than really was. No ticket in that case, not sure how it would do in court.

Seems like everybody is buying FB's these days, hope it doesn't drive the price up.

It takes a trip to the dyno and comparison tests with the dynos speedo that is calibrated correctly.( at least in Lincoln and Henderson counties) Andre, You will still end up with a Improper equipment ticket even if you prove it was actually off. That is exactly what "improper Equipment" is. They may drop everything but a IE ticket is no points to DMV and no points to Insurance.

If your driving record isn't that bad a lawyer could get it reduced to IE without you having to spend the time and money and hassle to prove you have Improper equipment anyhow

Just what I have learned doing tickets for the last 3 years here in NC. Good luck man. Was it in Iredell County? The DA's are pretty cool there. 2 young guys and a young female all pretty reasonable. But they always give better deals to lawyers. just fyi.

And you have never had a license plate before? No wonder you get tickets

Andre, after you get that 7 all put together it will need a nice drive to GA to stretch it's legs.

Dave, you know any lawyers you could recommend to Andre? 8^)

haha! Yeah I do know a couple

Andre, unfortunately in the great state of Mecklenburg they have been instructed to NEVER give IE reductions. As told to me by a Mecklenburg Atty. I will PM you the best traffic atty in Mecklenburg that I know. It will be worth it to at least talk to him about it.

Made some headway on the FC project.Installed a low pressure fuel pump.( man that thing vibrates the car) Installed the dizzy and the wiring harness I made for it. Sparked from the coils first time.

Rebuilding the carb tonight. Fabbing up a ghetto throttle linkage as well. Also need to make a cable bracket tomorrow. If all goes well I may actually fire this FC off for the first time in a year almost.

Question for the carb peoples. What do I do with my stock return fuel line? I am not running a return style regulator as of yet. Do I plug it or vent it? Thanks

I Can get allmost any size for a decent price, I can also mount and balance OGTA members tires for free.

My 13" tire selection isn't that good tho.

FC is running!! It popped off after the second crank with NO throttle. I am super stoked on this. The idle is rough and crappy( think fuel pressure related) Throttle linkage is sticky/hangs up on return. When i rev it up it is nice and crisp and makes a hell of a intake racket.

I need to fab a throttle cable bracket and get with Tim and have him walk me thru setting up a Orto.I also need to wire in a relay into the coil wiring. As i had to wait for the carb to run out to shut the engine off. Tripped my neighbor out when I pulled the battery and it was still running

I am flyin high rite now. It's been over a year since the FC has run for more than 5 minutes!!
