Tim Ole Buddy, good to see you getting down out of the hills and spending some time with us city folk. A good way to get a little culture and sophistication!

Sorry to miss you, I was hoping to pick your brain about Cut, Cap and Balance, the Debt Ceiling and the relative merits of power antennae. Well, next time.

Sorry not to make it to the Hunan dudes, I could taste the Moo Goo Gai Pan and Tsingtao limping all the way back home on my misbehaving bearing. Well, next time.

Thats ok Ray, I was only there in spirit, so you really didn't miss me.

Just remember when I do make it back down there I'll be looking for some empty brew bottles I left with you from the Mitty.

The August OGTA meet is just around the corner Tim, I'm planning on going, maybe you can make it down? Should be lots of culture and sophistication at that meet.

And I'll have the new aftermarket power antenna I won on ebay by then, I'll bring it along so you can have a look.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

I'll look around for those bottles. I have to confess their contents left kind of a blur. If you have any clues about their whereabouts send them along.

If I can't find them will some really interesting lab bottles work?

See you in August!

Well Ray you're really falling behind.
I had lunch with Holly and Mike on Wednesday.
Then yesterday I had lunch with Dean and one of his co-workers who happens to be a friend of mine.
Rotary lunch week!

I hate Bridgestone and Firestone tires. A Firestone tire, one of those notorious wilderness tires, delaminated on Cathy's Jeep one day out on 85 and nearly caused a roll over at 70 mph that could have involved several cars. Fortunately the tire stayed inflated after delaminating long enough to get the car slowed and off the road.

It was clearly the tire's fault but those Bridgestone/Firestone jerks wouldn't take responsibility, not even for the damage to the Jeep.

Firestone/Bridgestone makes dangerous tires, period. Don't buy them. Don't use them.

That GS sure is sweet, a good candidate for those red leather seats I picked up over there in Powder Puff last week

Only problem is that the seats in your GS are still mint!

It had been moved and seconded, so Greg the Younger is our new OGTA President for 2010/2011. All Hail the Chief!

Here's a big heads up for all you guys and gals with old stock cats sitting around taking up valuable space in parts sheds, garages and driveways in the Atlanta area.

I responded to this guy, at first thinking he was trying to make his RX-7 street legal up there in pollution conscious Massachusetts. Glad to get those old cats from the Brown One out of the driveway, I offered them at $50 plus shipping, about what I figured they'd bring at the recycle.

But he continued to insist on his much higher offer of $160 shipped, which I thought was crazy. But after a bit of discussion, wherein he revealed he is buying them up for recycle (they probably bring twice as much up there as they do down here with the skin flint GA recyclers) we settled on $150 for the main cat and two precats.

Sure enough, $155 was in my paypal account this morning. The cats are gone today. First profit I ever made on an RX-7 part.

So if you've got some stray cats hanging around, send this guy Matt a note.

"Entitlements", we have entitlements for being in OGTA? You guys have been holding out out me. What am I entitled to?

This could be interesting.

Free OGTA cards.

Doesn't sound like a lot but they will be worth more than you social security check in 20 years.

I never expect to benefit at all from the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars I'll pay into Social Security, and I'm happy to see anyone cut entitlements to see if they can make it last a little longer. It's a ponzi scheme and is unsupportable. It was created during the baby boom with shortsighted forecasting : we're not having kids at the rates we did in the late 40s and 50s, and the level of entitlements from such a program aren't sustainable.

And until the poor bear the same proportional burden as the rich (fair tax) the last thing they can expect is a handout they never contributed to. At least not a handout from me.

Crit, I agree with most of what you wrote. One edit. Fair Tax will not require the poor to bear the same tax burden as the rich. Fair Tax includes a "prebate" by which everyone will be prebated the tax burden on spending up to the poverty level each month. As a result some one living at or below the poverty level will effectivey pay no tax. The amount of tax paid on income above the poverty level is function of how much you spend. It is a consumption tax. Seems like a good idea, it will never get through Congress. Too many special interests.

Oh, by the way, nice looking RX-4.

Good point Crit. You know, back when I was poor, which was most of my life, I figured taxing folks who can hardly afford food didn't make much sense. At the same time I developed kind of an attitude about rich people.

But now that I'm rich I've giving it some second thoughts.

I'm going to forward this to my accountant Cathy and see what she says and check with my financial advisers President Greg the Younger and Mike S, CPO.

I mean, screw those people with kids in school.

In the mean time, check out my new X wheels!

Ray, did you chuck those up on a lathe, or was that machine finish already on the wheels? I've never seen a set that was rough-machined like that. Looks good.

Good eye Crit, that's the original machine lines.

I tried like crazy not to mess them up when I did the wet sanding. Some wheels are better than others.

But yeah, that machining is the mark of a good X wheel.

Alex, nice video but just a teaser. You got more? Should I bring those seats to Suwanee next Tuesday?

Pretty car. You don't see many of those Tender Blue ones with their OCD still working.

The meeting is at Twisted Sister's in Suwanee. Folks usually start showing up around 6:30, with the Business Meeting around 8:00.

We look forward to meeting you and that pretty FB!
