Anyone have a complete Nikki they would let go for free/cheap? I want to take a shot at stripping one down has much as possible and see how it performs
Gene you can harass me about forgetting to put the linkage to my secondaries in when I redid the Nikki two years ago if you want, but check out the OCD adjustment on the Silver One.
Have you ever had your OCD adjusted this perfectly?

And when I get that secondary linkage hooked up, look out dudes, the Silver One will take no prisoners.
And Chris, the "Little British Sports Coupe" is an MGB hardtop.
I know it must seem like a Hanomag 2/10 PS to you, but there was I time, back before the RX-7 came alone, that we used to drive (and repair) those Little British Sports Cars.

Also, nice work on the photos! This time you got at least two real sports cars in the gallery!
(Here's the other one)

Well I fixed my headlights today when I had a few minutes to look at the wiring schematic. When I was at RA I couldn't remember which relay powered the rear lights.
I pressure washed the enginebay before starting paintwork. That filled the relay block with water and it sat there for a week until I hooked everything back up. A little sandpaper on the contacts and we have lights again.
Ray- If you want the car you have to let me know
I am planning on getting in the booth with it next week. Some green cash will make the car white for ya!!
Crit- I think I am going to try some dry ice on the hood "bowl". Since it is not creased it "should" pop out when I drop the ice on a very hot hood. Stay tuned for the video in the next week. Gotta find a really hot day

Cool, we are going to have a drop-the-dry-ice-on-a-hot-hood demonstration. Post up the video Dave!
Gene, those wheels have so many spokes they are always going to look close.
But I think you have about a 5 degree OCD issue, the back spokes are a little bit ahead of the front spokes.
Not a problem, however, since I figured out how the OCD works.
I was refinishing some X-wheels and stumbled on the microchip with occillation codes and compensatory algorithms intact.
Using my PhD training, I reverse engineered the circuit to determine how the induction-driven calibration system on the deregulatory works.
Now I can get OCD settings with 0.01 degree.
Alex your car is looking like a Shriners parade.

I have another 61 photos up, but instead of continuing to post up so much in this thread, I'll link you guys to a forum that lets me have 50 images per post, rather than this forum's limit of 10.

Holly, we already know which FB is best, the Silver One of course!
From our intrepid field reporter Greg the Younger:
Understanding Engineers One:
Two engineering students were walking across a university campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?"
The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want."
The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway."
Understanding Engineers Two
To the optimist, the glass is half-full.
To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
Understanding Engineers Three
A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!"
The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!"
The priest said, "Here comes the green-keeper. Let's have a word with him."
He said, "Hello George, what's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?"
The green-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime."
The group fell silent for a moment.
The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight."
The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything he can do for them."
The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?"
Understanding Engineers Four
What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers?
Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets.
Understanding Engineers Five
The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?"
The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?"
The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?"
The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?"
Understanding Engineers Six
Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body.
One said, "It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints."
Another said, "No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections."
The last one said, "No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?"
Understanding Engineers Seven
Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
Understanding Engineers Eight
An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket..
The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do ANYTHING you want."
Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.
Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess and that I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"
The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that's cool."

Thank you for the compliments. Yes Ray your Silver One can be seen in the reflection. And Billy, good call on the waxing, I think the paint depth looked incredible both in person and on camera.
It doesn't even have to have the linkage for the secondaries on it. I know where I can get one of the those.
I've got a spare Nikki Mike, I'm just not sure how I feel about you taking all her clothes off.
While we've got a little break in the action I thought I'd take this opportunity to post the June 2011 OGTA calendar so you guys can all make sure you have the day free.
Notice the OGTA meeting is on a Tuesday this time on a very special day, the 7th:

I'm not going to leave the Nikki completely bare. I'm just going to take the clothes off she doesn't need. Think of it like going to the beach.
That'd be July 7, 1907 Mike (7-7-7), I was destined to drive a Wankel. June 7 is the next OGTA meeting (pls see calendar above).
Well, I guess I don't need to tell you what to do with your Nikki, especially since you are going to have to put her together completely from parts, from the jets out.
I was going through the parts pile today to see if I had one of those little linky dohiccies that connects the secondaries to that vacuum dashpot. And sure enough, I found an extra one. I'm putting in as we speak.
I've got the whole engine bay degreased and waiting for the detergent wash, then I get down and dirty on the Nikki. Looks like I can transplant that little rod in there without removing the carb, all I need to do is scoot a couple of those rats out of the way for a few minutes. Should give me a few extra horse power anyway.
While going through the parts pile I discovered I have parts for two or three complete Nikki's and a couple of good carb bodies and tops, so I'll bring what you need (including random parts and pieces from the rebuild kit) to the June 7 OGTA meeting. You can take her to the beach. I mean bench.
Unless you want to have some Chinese sometime next week. Any takers?

Dudes check this out. I'm outside adjusting the belts on the MP5 and need to drive the car up on the ramps because .... well, I don't know why but it's another reason to buy an FB.
Anyway I get in the car and here's what I see. This is about an hour after my last post, which refers to "7-7-7" :

Creepy. Looks like the Rotary Gods are busy out here in Jefferson this afternoon.
I'm going to go see if my X wheels are lined up.

I can do Chinese next week. Wednesday or Friday will work best for me.
Hey, how about my new avatar? It makes you want a blue one doesn't it. And did you notice that the OCD works perfectly on my new wheels.

Can't fool me Mike, for the OCD to work there needs to be a microchip embedded in the wheel, which you will only find on X wheels.
You're right about the OCD Colin, sure enough the Rotary Gods totally messed up my OCD settings and the X wheels are completely out of alignment - they were fine yesterday morning.
Last time this happened it took me two months to get it straightened out.
And I didn't even **** them off, they're just having a little fun. Hopefully they've moved on down to Athens and are messing with Wallace and Durwood this afternoon.

A little spare change could buy you a piece of history. I just got a raise, I'm gonna' lobby Cathy.
