Thanks guys, I'm going to call him this evening and see when a good time would be to meet up. It will probably be after 6 PM since I work till 5. It will probably be Tuesday or later, too, since I get paid that day.
I know that you can never really be sure with a used motor, but when I can see it run in the REPU, I'll feel much more confident handing over more than my share of rent
When Collin and I traded parts for the motor that's currently in my FC, I was well aware of the chance of that motor turning out bad, and we had already talked about it all.
But by seeing this one run before hand, being able to see if it burns coolant/ oil or smokes, and knowing that he's a good rotorhead and the motor has been in Billy's hands at one point, that's pretty reassuring. I know that I really don't have to go look at it before hand, I just want to see it run before he pulls it from the truck and give him a deposit before he pulls it, too.
Anywho, I'll let ya'll know. Thanks for all the input, too

Well you guys, I had my surgery yesterday. Finally! After all of the waiting and **** and dealing with the blinding pain for so long... being out of work making no money... etc.. My gallbladder is finally out!
My surgery began just after 11am yesterday... It sucked because those gowns are super itchy like they use no fabric softener.. It's bad enough when they make you wear one with nothing but your pants on, but jesus christ when you're not wearing ANYTHING, you get itchy in places you shouldn't ever be itchy unless you got crabs! When I laid down on the surgical table in the O.R., one of nurses reached under my blankets and underneath me to pull out a warm blanket because nothing could be tucked under my while I was 'out'... and she accidentally (Yeah right) touched my junk. She just kinda looked at me and smiled and blushed and said "My mistake!" - Hope she enjoyed.
A few deep breaths of anesthesia and I was out like a damn light. I woke up as they were taking the tube out of my throat (no jokes...), and God was I in pain.. I was in so much pain I literally felt like I was dying or something was wrong because I couldn't understand what was going on around me and my vision was totally blurred.
Apparently the majority of the pain at the time was caused by co2 gas. They make incisions and pump you full of the gas to expand your skin and whatnot away from your organs like you're a balloon, so that they can go in with the camera and the articulating arm things to crimp, clamp, tighten, tie, snip, pull, and remove the gall bladder without it rupturing.
So, now we get to that little son of a bitch known as my gallbladder..
Once they could actually see it inside my body, they knew what was wrong with it. First off, it was huge. Way too big for what it should be... all stretched out. And it had turned a blue color. It was irritated, and apparently had some weird looking crap stuck to the outside of it that they didn't know what it was... Lastly, they found out I was born with a Common Bile Duct that is too small to do the job.. So I had this back-up going on because my gallbladder couldn't drain like it was supposed to, which stretched and irritated it, and the bile couldn't get into my intestines to do it's job.. Ergo, it was all sorts of fucked up.
So now I've got four little scars.. But I don't really care. I've lost so much weight over the years, what are four little scars in the sea of stretch marks?
They shaved my stomach. ********.
I feel O.K. today.. though I still have a lot of co2 gas inside me up around my right collar bone and shoulder area and it hurts sooooo bad when any pressure (from leaning back in a chair for example) is applied to that area. I can also definitely feel that something inside me is missing, and I cannot lay on my right side without being in a lot of pain.. even laying on my left side causes stuff to shift in the area where it was removed and it kinda hurts.. Yet strangely, I slept really well last night.
They bumped up my Oxycontin, so I take it every four hours now...Joy...
I'll be fine in a few more days and will be able to work next week probably, but I cannot lift anything over 40lbs for FOUR WEEKS... So even if I had the money to go to ZF and run the track, I probably couldn't because I have no power steering, and at the limit like that, the steering gets extremely heavy (Which I like, personally) and the G-forces would put strain on certain areas possibly that could hurt me. But I'm gonna ask my surgeon when I talk to him next to see if he thinks I can still run the track if I get the money together somehow.
Still trying to sell the Maxima.. I have a more long term goal I'm trying to achieve, so I hope it sells soon!

Hey Collin, I'd be thrilled by that. To find it blue and funky looking - at least you know you've got root cause. For every bit of pain you're in now, you'll be free of that gallbladder pain for the rest of your life. I'm sure it was at least a little scary and uncertain, and can be a tough call. Congrats.

Good deal, Collin. Sounds similar to what I went through. I had a pain in the back after and the pain meds didn't seem to do much, so I didn't take many of them. I was mostly better in under a week (still a bit sore, but could get around okay). I found that staying in one place and not moving much was best for dealing with the pain for the 1st week, but when I did have to get up/move, man that hurt.
They put these inflatable balloon things over my legs before and just after the surgery (to prevent clots). They would put up and then release every few seconds. When going into the O.R., they had me on the IV. The lady said "I gave you some anesthesia. You may start feeling it soon." I just remember looking up at the light not feeling anything and waking up about 1.5hr later feeling like I just got hit by a truck. I was breathing rapidly because my body was like "WTF?". They had an O2 mask on me and it felt like I couldn't get enough air. They switched me over to the O2 that goes in your nose and that was much better.
Anyway, you'll heal up quickly and not have to go through the pain again.

Happy you're better now, Collin. You should've asked them if you could get your gall blatter put in a jar to keep. I always thought that would be cool.

So the motor's just fine, so I'll be getting it soon. Mark said he'd try to pull it sometime next week, so if I get it then, I can start next weekend, have the old motor pulled by the end of the weekend, the new one swapped in the next weekend and hopefully running by the 4th since I'll have work off. Dropping $350 stinks, but I know it'll be worth it when I can drive a 'unique' car again and laugh like a little girl as I drive through parking decks setting off every car alarm on that level
