Ah good, it's working. Mike now that I have all your thoughts and actions under my complete control, repeat after me:
K13 Silver IS BETTER than Tender Blue...K13 Silver IS BETTER than Tender Blue...K13 Silver IS BETTER than Tender Blue...
Thanks for the congrats guys and guysesses! In my business, you only get two promotions during your entire career, so I'm trying to make the best of this one.
See Ya'll tomorrow at Noon at the Hunan Inn, bring your mittens, we'll have a snowball fight!

As I recall from GT, if the prof is 15 minutes late, he doesn't even have to teach! How great is that?!?
Collin, what are the specifics with your Redline? What changed?

Thanks for your first post Michael! (PS, You shouldn't listen to Mike, he's a corrupter of young minds).
Very funny Mike (But true, I'll admit).
Yep Tim, more money and less work, but the work is more important!
Now before you guys start taking swings at college professors, realize I didn't have my first real job until I was 45, that after a twenty year vow of poverty as a grad student and post doc. When you look at total lifetime earnings, that average factory worker comes out ahead of the average professor (although doctors, lawyers and guys who work at CDC are another story).
Speaking of which Crit, I may be 5 minutes late for lunch tomorrow, I'll be in an important meeting until noon (interview with potential pharmacy student) and it's a five minute drive to Hunan. Anyone else coming down? Their Chinese food is pretty good!

Crit,
I bought Redline MT-90. Allegedly, the gear oil previously in the gearbox prior to replacing my pilot bearing was Redline as well, but I don't know which grade. After researching for a few days, I came to the conclusion that MT-90 was the way to go.
So, after replacing the pilot bearing, I put Coastal gear oil into the gearbox. This **** SERIOUSLY sucked... To start with, getting into 1st or 2nd and sometimes 3rd was damn near impossible when cold. Once you got moving on cold oil, you could literally feel the drag. It was almost like driving with the e-brake (if mine even worked..) partially engaged. Once warmed up, 2nd gear was still hard to engage upon downshifting and sometimes actually refused altogether. Changing up from 1st into 2nd, both cold and warm, gave me a nice grind and resisted quite a bit. 3rd was always notchy.
Now that I've put fresh Redline in it, the gearbox feels wonderful. Even on the cold *** mornings since, I don't feel that same sluggishness (drag) that the Coastal gave me. Changing up into 2nd and 3rd is buttery smooth (Well, 2nd feels different than all the other gears but it doesn't grind or crunch like before) and..well... all around, it's a lot better. Quieter, too.
Someone mentioned in a thread I found while researching that "Redline IS what it's cracked up to be" -- And I FIRMLY agree with that. It's well worth the money. Not only is my gearbox better than when it had Coastal in it, but it's even better than when it had the older gear oil in it. It's a very noticeable improvement.
Still haven't decided what to do with my money yet. I'm thinking two new tires for the rear of Wanda and maybe buy the paint for the bumper... a jack, etc..

Come to think of it, at 85000+ miles the FE is starting to get a little recalcitrant on the 1-2 shift...I guess I'll have to invest in a couple more bottles!

Ray-- That's awsome about your dad. I don't think I want to be a pilot, but I definitely want to go for a ride and break the sound barrier
I have had great results with Royal Purple and Mobil1 gear oil as well. I have yet to try Redline, but may give that a go the next time I need some. Bottom line, synthetic is where it's at.

That one looks like too much car for me Mike, but thanks for listing!
Also, with you guy's permission, of course, I've already been listing the Grand, Exalted, Mystic Ruler title on my CV for years:
And here's a picture of the B-58 (Yes Donnie, it was supersonic!)

Need to update that CV there Ray. Not Jeffrey's no more.
You went to UMass? You lived through it? I used to go to parties up there back when I was a very youngin'. Surprising no one died at times.... Fun place.
Congrats.
