dude, I guess you don't know how well I know Peter's car. but no. This was non TII(N/A hood and all), also Peter doesn't go to SPSU, he doesn't know anyone at SPSU but me and the friends I was there visiting when I saw that car, this one said "Mazda" across the windshield. I've ridden in Peter's car before, and that wasn't his.

Sorry sorry, didn't know you two knew each other well, just throwing out a similar car. That's the only red FC with FD wheels I know of then.

Update on the FB: Went over to my uncles and got it running today. The battery was dead, and the 'exh overheat' and battery light won't go off. Hopefully they're good by tomorrow when this one guy comes to check it out (unless it's another no show...). Wish me luck!

Billy and Crit. I need your phone numbers so I can call and discuss pick up times and dates for the car/motor.

Glad you followed the link! My friend, Saier, (who also goes to SPSU) wants to build a KA-T 240, he has a spare freshly rebuilt motor for it when he can fund all the turbo goodies. He is Nisxsz on 240atlanta, and he has a red 1989 DOHC swapped S13 Hatch on Tein Flex coilovers.

You, or your brother should really come out to one of our meets, and also, I am an MET student, so I may have even been in a class with you today haha. I can pm you my number if you're ever on campus and want to hang out, there are a few good car loving friends I have at SPSU and I'd love to have another one.

I'm emailing those photo's now, Ray.

Happy 1 day late birthday, Crit. I remembered to say it on Facebook, but just remembered here

And, I'm going to tackle the clutch on Jim Albert's FC this weekend. I did a little more reading on everything and I'm comfortable doing it all. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it in my uncle's garage, and with his tools and mine I'm sure we can get the job done. Plus my mom's boyfriend is off of work for a while, so if I'm really in a jam he could come over and help out, since he's the one who helped me with the clutch on my FC.

So, my clutch died tonight trying to leave mall of GA... couldn't get it into gear, so Kristy had to get out of the car and direct traffic so I could roll back into the parking lot.

While waiting on AJ and my insurance company to not be ******* retards, I checked to make sure I had fluid and that the hydraulics were working properly. And they were.. Clutch slave was actuating properly and wasn't losing pressure. Yet the pedal felt as if my engagement point was no more and it would not go into any gear.

AJ arrives, gets in my car while I'm on the phone, starts it, and drives away...

So I drove home and it was acting normal. Not sure what the hell happened.

I know my release bearing is going out.. It's squealing and grinding and making all sorts of fun noise with the clutch depressed and while pulling away from a stop.

I'm off to Vermont for a few days in the morning.. and I guess I'll have to deal with it when I get home, but.. any ideas?

Brett, you shouldn't be worried about a simple clutch job. Try and borrow Crit's (HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYY!) oh-so-handy pilot bearing puller so you can do the job right. Use a socket to tap the new pilot bearing into place and don't forget to lube it all up (But not too much!).

Use Crit's tip to duct tape the drive shaft to the tail housing so you don't lose any gear oil (unless you planned on changing it)

And if you do change it (Recommended by me), go spend $2.99 at Autozone on a pump-action oil pump. It's white and looks like a soap dispenser hand pump...screws onto the top of the bottle and you simple pump. And yes, while I'm aware that that's what she said, it also has a handy fitting on the end of the hose to hold the hose in the transmission while filling. Works FLAWLESSLY!

I should probably also mention that since you're in there, inspect the flywheel for any hairline fractures or scary looking bits... take note and call the owner if they're bad.

Don't forget a healthy coat of anti-seize on everything you take off!

Collin, do you know how cold it is in Vermont right now? Are you crazy?

Last call on photos for the 2010 OGTA calendar, if you have one you want me to use please send a high res copy to my email address (surelypeaches@yahoo.com). I've followed Holly's astute suggestion and decided since there aren't enough months to focus on individual cars to use pics that emphasize OGTA meetings, group shots of cars and/or people and special themes (like Crit's REPU "Rotary Power" pic).

Yes, even the famous White One at Road Atlanta Photo is gone (although I will put it back if there's a popular uprising).

I will post a "final" draft in a few days. Yes we can and will make one more round of final edits, but I'd like to have this thing ready to print by early next week.

Roland and I have looked into printing costs but they would raise the price to well over $10 per calendar, so I'm gonna go socialist and print them on my personal photo quality printer for the cost of paper, which should keep the per calendar cost below $5.00 each (free to those of you who have already donated).

Finally, let's all keep Mike and Michelle in mind as they go through yet another round of struggle with Michelle's illness. It makes all our struggles with work, jobs and relationships shrink in comparison and reminds us to appreciate what we have.

Alternately, you can do it the way we did with Sexypants. Drain, change clutch, tape driveshaft, fill, install. Works Super-Flawlessly.

Collin, you're sure you weren't pushing the brake when it stalled, right?

Ray I agree on the calendar printing
Have not had time to get the other SA photos so lets just use what you have. I appreciate it!

A belated Happy Birthday to you Crit.

Ray, I vote you put the white one in the calendar and feature it on a month. Don't shrink it down. It just has to be in there to show the proper alignment of the X wheels.

Thanks Holly, the White One is back in.

Well something pretty unusual happened today and yes, it has to do with 12A's.

I got out of work a little late so I'm making my way through the rush hour traffic out on 85 down around Pleasant Hill when low and behold, there's a black FB up ahead, only one I've seen out there except Mike's Gray Ghost in more than 5 years.

So I catch up and join the parade and we head North, first past the 316 split, then past the Jefferies exit, then on up 85 past the 985 split. Naturally I'm wondering where this dude is headed so I slowed down so he could keep up with me.

On past Hamilton Mills, then the Winder and Braselton exits, all the way to the Jefferson exit, where he peels off and heads into Jefferson, me still tagging along. Down through Jefferson, left at the light, right over the bridge and I'm nearly home, with the black GSL still in front of me. Then, last right turn before Jefferson River Rd, the guy pulls into one of those fancy housing developments the rich folks live in, about three miles from my house.

I tap my lights, we get out and talk, turns out he's from Indiana (I am too) and has had his 83 GSL since, you guessed it, 1983. He's lived in my neighborhood for 8 years, a year longer than Cathy and me, and his wife is a college professor.

And he uses the GSL to commute into work each day on Jimmy Carter Blvd, the guy must be a genius.

Very very weird.

And here's the best part, he works for a welding company! Could come in useful.

Name's Dean, I gave him a card and he says he'll be at the Feb OGTA meeting. You guys will like him. And his car - very pretty (shiny new black paint, impeccably kept, with original stripped cloth seats, to die for).

Hello all, so someone stuck a blue card to this forum on my windsheild a couple of days back here in Lawrenceville in the Publix shopping center off of Sugarloaf parkway, so I figured I'd look and see what this section is all about

Welcome FC-Rex90! As you can see there is a lot of what appears at first glance, old school first gen Rx-7 and older love in here, but really, it's love for all things automotive, and especially rotary. We meet the first Tuesday of every month at the Twisted Tavern in Suwanee, GA around 7:00, or 6:00 lately because of the early sunsets. We take pictures, hang out, talk cars, and you get the benefit of a bunch of friends that'll take good care of you if you needed it. You should come check it out.

Also, to everyone, my birthday is soon as well(Monday, Jan 18th), and the car's tag HAS been updated. So yeah, I'm not a teen in 4 days, I guess I'm on my way to being an old guy with a 13B, not quite there yet.
