I got the Torin 1-ton foldable hoist... Though I'm curious, does yours have free space on either side where the hydraulic ram attaches to the whole shebang? Where it attaches to the boom, there's like half an inch or more on either side of the tip of the piston itself and at the base where the ram attaches to the support pole, there's some space on either side as well.
Hey Collin, congrats on 1000 posts. It sounds like the pins (bolts, really) that the ram mounts to are longer than you'd expect, and the ram can slide left and right while still on the pins. If that's the case, then no, I've never noticed it on mine. If it gives you trouble, you could always add washers to close that slop.
Here's one I can't figure out. My X wheels are always aligned on ALL FOUR WHEELS!! I thought it was just on one side, like the famous Zoom Fest picture:

But I was looking at some recent photos the other day and I realized the White One keeps her wheels in synch on BOTH SIDES, ALL THE TIME!! Here she is out in my drive way last weekend:

And here's some from about a year ago:

How's she do that?

Don't have that problem with a Nikki. Although, now that I have that ReSpeed CAI set up I do have to be careful not to get too close to cars on the highway. The Nikki has been known to suck them right off the road. They come out the other end like owl pellets.
Awww... The sweet zen of a Nikki on top of a rotary. That calls for a beer.

I said that? Man listening to all these students complain about my test questions is making me a little punchy, I'd better be more careful!
Hey what would you guys prefer to see at next Tuesday's OGTA meeting, the White One dirtier than she's ever been, literally dripping with mud and grime?
Or the White One after a bath, a good wax job and with the interior cleaned up and leather conditioned, kind of all mint like she can be?
I need to decide if this is the weekend for her bath.
On another note, you guys be careful not to get that nasty swine flu. Here's one thing you want to avoid:

New float in the carb, check.
100GPH fuel pump mounted, check.
Fuel pressure set to 6PSI, check.
New rear shoes, check.
Powder coated air cleaner, check.
Bled brakes, check.
Still mushy pedal, check.
Change the oil tomorrow and maybe add a oil gauge.

Ray, personally I would like to see the white one, clean and spotless. She is a beautiful car. It reminds me of my 1982 GS that I had to sell in 1986.
But, I will be washing and waxing my 88 vert this weekend that I plan on bringing on Tue. I just hope it does not rain on Tuesday.

????? Crit's joke is going right over my head. Maybe I really am getting too old. ?????
Anyway I like Larry's idea about dressing up the girls for next Tuesday so I'm going to spiff up the White One for the OGTA meet.
How 'bout if we take it one more step and have a car show?
I have some really nice trophies to hand out, we could have categories:
Best FB (this would include SE's)
Best Old School (this would include RX-2's, RX-3's, REPU's, etc and SA's)
Best Young ****** Award (this would include FC's, FD's and F8's)
Of course since I already bought off all OGTA members a long time ago, I will not put the White One in the competition but instead offer her up as a reference standard for what a rotary ought to be.
To be sure we have objective judges, I suggest we use boinger-driving rotary wanna be's and other intelligent, upstanding RX7 citizens, like Holly, Collin (or is it Colin? I'm talking about the guy with the Miata) and RotaryBuddha, who will be visiting from Tampa, Florida (in a boinger, not the FC):

We can make closet ******* Billy and Tim judges too, since even though they claim to have rotaries, they always show up in boingers.
What'd ya'll think?

So I need you old guys' help once again... I drove up to Collin's house Wednesday to help him with his FC, and on the way there I was stopped by the lovely Pendergrass police. The cop was an arrogant ***** and he couldn't sit there and wait to get someone hauling *** on 129, he stopped me. And I got a ticket for 'Inequipped Vehicle' with his reasoning being for the 'altered suspension' and 'improper exhaust', even though I mentioned the suspension wasn't lower that the 2" law. So I called the court or whatever today and talked to some lady who told me the fine was $163 and that since it's a city ordinance, I can't look up the laws online, I've got to go up there, submit a form, and PAY to look at their ordinaces (and the price would be somewhere around $15). So what are my options? Go to court and prove the suspension isn't over the 2" law, but still be stuck with the exhaust ticket and probably then pay court fees, or just pay them the redicolus fine even though I wasn't hurting a damn soul.
Ray and Mike and Collin, Jackson county blows
AND I have no hours at work for the next month, so I'm pretty much fired.
BUT I'm still coming to OGTA and entering the 'Young *******' group of the 'show'
Sheesh Brett, I told you those guys wanted to have a conversation with you. Repeat after me...
I will not travel through Pendergrass...

Hmmm OGTA car show. Which car to bring the old one or the young one? Id think I have a better shot of winning the young one category. Im still trying to figure why SA's arent in the same catagory with FB's.
