Well, I was able to find the drain plug I needed. A M12x1.25 oil drain plug with rubber washer did the trick. The car's now wired, powered, filled with fluids, but just won't crank. Maybe a bad starter, or a bad connection somewhere. No hum from the fuel pump either. All told, though, she's close to running. I even added a sense lead to the stock harness so I can plug an Air/Fuel meter straight into it to see if the car runs lean.

Thanks for the offers of the drain plug, but I'm good now.

Holly,

Sign me up for the Maz-Mart tour on the 31st! Maybe we should do a Poker Run or something in conjunction with the day's events?

BTW, my garage is now receiving the finishing touches, should be ready for a rotorhead gathering on the South Side in the next month or so...

Cheers,
Troy

Any additional rotorheads who are not on the MazMart open house list, from this post forward, please visit and post in the separate thread in the SE section so they can get a headcount for lunch.

Alright. Another rotory possible for for the 12A count. Ray, what is the record? I saw a couple of pages back that the crossroads guys had 12.8 (although there is some debate about the total - something about hanging chad I think).

The Mazmart meet could end up with a pretty good 12A count.

What is the scoop on a mountain run? I have seen this mentioned a few times, but I am not sure what the original idea was. Now is the time to plan a good spring time mountain trip. Maybe we could coordiante with NC, SC and TN guys.

Mazmart doesn't count, for the same reason Ft Yargo didn't count. If it's not an OGTA function, it doesn't seem to count.

Yeah, Crossroads doesn't count either, not an Official OG@TA-sanctioned event (not held at Jefferies or the home of an Official OG@TA member). None-the-lees, you can't blame those Crossroad Guys for trying to be like us.

Hey Crit, do you want to be a mod? They contacted me with an invitation, but I'm afraid that when they do the background check they'll discover my criminal past and membership in the communist workers party.

I'm with Mike and Zach, we need another Mountain Day!

Ray, you have an addiction. You are a media *****. I swear, every single page in this thread has to have like 20 pictures and 3 videos, at LEAST. All because of you.

It's not really a bad thing but man, don't go overboard.

Hey- even though it takes my computer like 20 more seconds to load the pages, Ray's pictures are the ****

And I'm with everyone- another 'rotary run' towards the spring would be awesome. While gas is remotely cheap and I still have a job I could go without having that guy with the Malibu and jackass shirt this time though...

Oh, this could get interesting. Making Ray part of the establishment. Big brother Ray. It has a nice ring to it.

Chris, for the speedo, check the cable connection at the tranny, it may have shaken loose. If so, the guts of the cable probably slid out. My SE's tach doesn't work when it's cold, because of the damping goo that Mazda put in the hubs of the gauges to damp the sweep of the needle. It keep it from vibrating and driving you crazy on the road. That said, you may also have the same problem on your speedo, given how cold it is.

What happens if you put the dead headlight up by hand?

The tach could also have to do with the coil... I think...

Chris, your 7 has a cold. Mine didn't even start this morning. Antenna won't go down either, although it does on warm days.

The headlight is probably that the plastic ball connection from the lever to the motor broke or popped out on that headlight, this is why one light works but the other doesn't. Happens when it's cold.

The tach and speedo are also probably cold related, I'd wait for a warmer day to worry about it. Mine sputter on cold days but recover when we get back to normal.
