I've seen the air car thing. The problems they aren't mentioning is the amount of power it takes to compress the air (which, is probably generated from coal in this country) and the fact you are sitting on top of a bomb. The one I read about was going to use a carbon fiber air tank instead of metal in case it ruptures. They claimed it would "disintergrate." In other words, become a bunch of needles to poke holes in everything. I think it was like 4500 psi..... No thanks.
Good to see folks thinking though.

I'll be there tomorrow night. Not sure what I'll be in.
Crit - I'll bring the steel channel.
Brett - You better be there...and I swear to God if that motor goes to waste in that damn convertible, I'll hurt you.
Tim - You better be there in something rotary powered.
Ray - Are you not coming?
Holly - -poke- 0.o

I'm gonna be out of town pretty much all this week. Don't think I'll be able to make it work.
May have had progress on the FD tonight though. Think I figured out the one side of the rack. Now I gotta figure out everything that needs to get unhooked on the solenoid side.

Too late It's going in there to make sure everything will work right. I'm not tearing my car apart and putting that in it just to see it not work. There could be a bad seal or chipped apex seal or some other little thing that could have been overlooked. So I'm putting it in the convertible to make sure it works. If it does, I'm either going to: 1) Pull the motor and put it in my car and sell the convertible 2) Keep the convertible with that motor for myselfor 3) Sell the convertible with the motor. So the decision's made. The rust on the convertible isn't life threatening and I could care less about the apperance ATM.
Yeah, those pictures were of them on low-beam. And the fog lights tap into the front parking lights so they dont mess with the headlights.
And I've got my crappy <$100 camera with a half-broken screen that I could bring. Someone's borrowed the memory card so it only holds like 20 pictures. But it's better than nothing

Brett, have you dropped a skinny LED light in through the exhaust port to check out the chrome of the rotor housings? Have you rotated the engine and checked to see that each apex seal is springy and unbroken? Have you put a starter and battery on it to check compression?
It's likely a good motor, but these are quick checks to see if perhaps you're wasting your time.
By the way, I've got a full rebuild kit, porting templates, intake and exhaust gaskets, OMP hardware, and all kinds of other stuff on the way now. Sure it blew up the credit card, but at least I have something to do this winter....

Sweet! Just picked up the new car. Now I gotta debate which car to bring tonight. Sorry for the crappy pictures, just got in, about to leave, took them with my cell phone.

Tim, you made the right choice! No one needs to see the G6. You probably had more fun driving the FB. That made our count 7.0.
1 SA 1.5 points - Andy
3 FB 3.0 points - Crit, Chris & Tim
5 FC 2.5 points - Collin, Brett, Colin, Robert, sorry I forgot the guys names in the last FC
Only one boinger - Holly. Everyone had their 7s running
Chris tooks pics, I guess they will be up soon.

Terrific pictures Chris. I especially like that bright blue FC, whose car's that?
And is that Tim's FB? Figures, he gets a brand new boinger but still prefers to drive the FB.
And Andy washed his car! Even Holly was struttin' her stuff.
Looks like lots of new faces too. Can someone match up cars with new faces for us?
Looks like a Movement. A ROWE2RI Movement.
Did anybody get a 12A count? Should we start counting 13B's, even ones in FC's, FD's and (gasp) RX-8's, as roughly equivalent to a 12A (just not quite as good)?
Another great day for a rotary meet.
Next one at Jeffery's: December 2, the Jeffery's lot, a littler earlier than usual (say 6:30?) to account for the shorter days?

Brett you left before the picture taking began!
Today was a good day...a slow day, but a good day.
Today I removed the exhaust system, heat shields, and driveshaft. I also removed the starter and disconnected what appears to be all transmission associated wiring. Finally, off came the feed and return lines for the tranny cooler (At the transmission). Draining the transmission was a bee eye tee see ache. There's no drain bolt? So it appears to require dropping the pan...which was REAL fun. I'm not a complete dumbass or anything...I unbolted everything on the pan aside from the four corners, then unbolted one end, put the drain pan underneath that end and pried the seal loose. But in that tiny moment of *slurrrp*, like 1/2 a quart gushed down both arms. SWEET.
I'm pretty happy with what I accomplished today. I went slow and didn't force anything. If it didn't want to budge, I'd give it s'more PB and wait, working on something else in the meantime. I also put bolts in baggies with labels on them. Heatshield bolts, driveshaft bolts and exhaust hardware. I figured hey, why not?
I work thru the daylight hours tomorrow, so I will probably end up flushing/bleeding the clutch hydraulics in the garage and start cleaning up the drivetrain going into the car so it's not some filthy mass of metal.
The meet last night was fun. It was empty without Ray, of course, but it was still fun. At least the VIPs came (Holly, Crit). We also saw the arrival of a newcomer. Colin showed up in his black-on-black-on-black S5 autobox. And a returning newbie whom I only know as 'kid with the formerly J5 TII' and his friend.
You missed out Ray! Face it, it's just not the same without you!
And yes, Tim showed in his stylin' FB. Rock on.
Chris took some great pictures and we even played around with kid-with-the-formerly-J5-TII's flashlight as you can see above. Cool stuff.
Crit is being very kind in drilling out the steel channel for me so that I know it's accurate and drilled out right.
By next month, I should arrive in my kickin' Sabine with her flashy new gearbox! My dream car is nearing completion!
Now, who lives reasonably close to Jefferson (Exit 137, I-85 N) and wants to come be my second set of hands to yank the nasty autobox out of the car? That thing is a *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* *beeeeep*beep**beeeeeep*beeeeeep*with a*beeeeep**bep**beeeep*topped off with a big helping off bull*beep*......
Yeah, I need a blog.
