I decided to ditch the stock nikki & manifold because when I went to take the manifold off I got 4 of the bolts off and it just fell off because some one tried to take it off before and left 2 bolts on the under side in and just broke it off then bolted it back on....OMG, you woulnd belive the jerry-riggitry on this thing....I just have to rip everything out and start over.... on a better note, I spun the motor over a few times at the crank and I got 6 good poofs!

 

So why ditch the Nikki over two busted bosses? A stock manifold is a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying a full carb setup, and the Nikki works great. I'd recommend hitting up someone with a backyard full of parts that might be able to source a manifold, and applying that money elsewhere. Standalone carb setups get pricey pretty quick.

 

I have a stock 81 12A intake manifold with all the emissions stuff still? Will that help you get on the road with it? I'll donate it to the OGTA cause!...

i got a stock but its stripped and i think it has a float problem not sure the car ran when i took it off so it works i dont know how well your free to it i dont need it just sits in my pile of stuff

 

and sorry i for got i still need watts link i think im going to just weld a bolt to the rear end for the time and the bent axle is almost perfect ( sledge hammer) got a set of 16's for the car but the rims rub springs on the front eh my luck... but its all temp for now just got to get some money

 

So I've managed to get strep throat. I was sent home from work yesterday before I was even allowed to clock in which upsets me because I need the money that bad and I had to expel all the gas just to get there and back for no reason.. I have Saturday and Sunday off...so the meds need to kick in by Monday so I can convince Maria I am alright to come back to work. This first paycheck needs to be as substantial as possible. I might actually miss this next OGTA meet if things don't go well enough.

Hopefully that won't be the case.

 

Oh, did I mention that I can't even eat or drink liquids because it hurts that bad? It's beyond excruciating just to drink plain water...I have to drink that at the very least. We're going to try something like ensure so I can get some nutrition. I'm becoming pretty weak at this point. That'll burn even more.

 

Sorry to hear about the strep throat Collin, hope you get better soon! The good news is that your immune system is busy raising a permanent immune response against that particular strain of strep so you will never catch it again!

Ray, Ray, Ray... Those stickers will probably cost us some 12A equivalent points at the next meet. There has to be a penalty for putting bumper stickers on a 7.

Now a Sarah Palin sun shade would probably be worth a 1/2 of 12A equivalent.

BTW, Michelle is getting better. She is still in ICU (been in ICU for the past 2 weeks) but we are getting close to getting out, I think.

And yes, I'm looking for a Palin Shade shade for the car. I figure the more exposure for the Babe from Alaska the better.

In fact, at first I thought Michael's "Sexy Paints" was a Palin sticker. Thank goodness he has better sense and is supporting a very important cause.

(Obama says he will double the NIH budget, not such a big step forward after 8 years of gutting by the Bush administration, but at least a move in the right direction. John McCain would continue Bush's backward slide regardless of what John actually thinks, his hand forced by Sarah and the neocons, who prefer Creationism to science and rational health policies).

Holly, the stickers are removable. Once Obama/Biden are in the White House I'll take them off and switch parties. Unless McWorse wins (anything is possible in the Good Old USA, where anybody can be President, even the Babe from Alaska! Did anybody see Forrest Gump?).

If McCain/Palin win I'll leave them on till the next election.

Collin thanks for the heads up on "keying" the car. I had to ask Cathy what that was all about. I guess I need to be careful about which neighborhoods I park in! (you gotta love that southern justice).

And if anybody starts accusing me of being a Yankee, remember I was born in Biloxi and Cathy was born in Hattiesburg and we know where you live.
