Are both belts from the same batch and are they exactly the same length? The dual belt won't help unless both have the same tightness and grip.

Yeah, same brand, batch, size... I have found with the duel belts sometimes you need to swap the inner belt for the outer belt. There can be a very slight bit of difference in length between the two.

they seem to be the same size. They are from the same batch same kit I can try lapping two belts, one inner towards the outer and see if that works.

Yeah, I've had them where one of the belts "wants" to be on the inside pulley. Even if they are the same belt and everything.

Its, you know, machining tolerance.

Hi Jacob, Sheryl & Richard here - we met you at 7s Day (Silver FB and red FD). Glad to see you are still enjoying your car and making solid improvements. We will also be at DGRR and look forward to seeing your progress.

I had to play musical belts on mine, even though they were from the same batch. I bought the banzai kit you got but ended up using 2 other belts I got from Rock Auto. Hopefully swapping them around solves your squeal!

And it will be nice to put a face to a name at DGRR, I'll be looking for ya! Are you coming up for a day or staying for multiple? I know a lot of us are staying at the lodge and some of the OGTAs have gotten a cabin together.

I will be up there for multiple days. I know it starts on the 22nd. But I will be up there on the 21st till the 23rd. I was a little late to book at the lodge so I’ve got a place about 15 minutes away in neighboring city, but I’ll be up there on the 21st so I can get unpacked and make sure the car is good and clean, but I’ll only be there till the 23rd, I wish I could stay for the whole thing

also, what is the schedule for this whole event? I know it’s from the 22nd till the 26th and I know some days will be for the car show and later days will be for the cruise to the dam for the pictures. I don’t think I’m gonna get to cruise to the dam for the pictures since I’ll only be there for the first half. I don’t really know what the schedule and stuff works. I’ve never made it to DGRR so this will be my first time here and first time registering

The best thing about DGRR is the Cheroholla skyway run. Its kinda one of the only reasons I go. The rest of DGRR is meh, but meeting people is nice. The skyway run is on friday in the morning..... FILL UP BEFORE YOU SHOW UP!!!!!! The run will drain your first gen tank.

One thing I was curious about the event is spectating free or do you have to pay to register in when I was registering my car? I completely forgot to purchase the gas ticket for my dad to come with me. He will be with me and he’s interested in these cars, but doesn’t have one himself but would still like to see them and I forgot to purchase that guest ticket when registering my car now that the online Registry is over is there still a way for him to get into the show?

You can buy tickets from the hosts at the event, but you might not get the "care package"***.

***The care package is all the stickers, tee shirt, and lottery tickets you get from registering.

ah I see I’ve got my car registered and I picked what size T-shirt I wanted so I know I’m ok. It’s just my dad is coming up there with me in a different vehicle with tools and parts just in case. Since this is my first time taking the RX7 across states. And I’m not trailering it so I’m doing all my prepping right now getting parts checking and the car. For this event and then I noticed oh shoot I didn’t add my dad as a guest. He’s gonna be there attending just in the passenger seat with me. He doesn’t care much for the T-shirts and other stuff. He just wants to see the cars and be there.

I think a lot of us are showing up on Wednesday the 22nd, me and a few guys will roll in around 3 PM. Surely there will be some people arriving early on Monday/Tuesday so you won't be alone. Wednesday and Thursday are usually chill days, maybe a few seminars around the lodge and random mountain drives. Usually the Dam meet is on Friday afternoon, the car show on Saturday morning, and the banquet is Saturday evening. The guys on Facebook will push you to register your dad, but I wouldn't worry about it if you're only there for the first 2 days and not doing any of the main events. They aren't checking names or wrist bands or anything like that. If you're wanting to do a group drive just ask around at the lodge, guys head out from there randomly all the time.

Here's a little rotary fleet update for you gents.

The turd continues to do well, I drive it once every week or so and get more comments in it than any other car. Some day it will get body work and paint, until then it sits next to the project SA. I need

I'm gonna drive the FD to DGRR this year, gave it a bath the other day

The blue RX8 now has a new (used) engine in it and has done over 200 miles with no issues. Man I missed driving this car. It's my youngest kid's new favorite so he's always down to go for a ride

Less than 3 weeks till DGRR!

I will be there on Monday as I need the extra recovery time from the drive. Nick said that he plans to be there on Monday as well. I know of a few others planning to roll in on Tuesday.

I didn't have the ***** to say it out loud, and I didn't want to self incriminate. I've been before without registering, and I just drove along with the crowd. I mean the guys don't own the roads, but like to throw them a bone for putting on a good gathering.

Honestly, the sponsors are what really pays for the event.

The vendors both make money at the event, and pay extra for their involvement.

I totally understand the justification behind the registration fee, a lot of time and money goes into setting up the event, shirts, website, sponsors, social, etc. And I know the volunteers get their registration/rooms/some meals covered, I helped volunteer twice. But on the other hand, if my wife or brother come up for a day to visit, we mostly go off on our own anyways and I see no need for someone like that to contribute to the pot.

Honestly I think the registration is just a reason to kick rowdy unwanted people out.

If someone is being a jerk you can ask him to leave. You have justification to revoke his armband. If he doesn't have an armband you are justified in kicking the rowdy individual out.

So don't be a dick and you can stay around.

My wife doesn't get registered... but she mostly just sits in my passenger seat or down at the dock at the dam.

I agree, I kinda look at it like going to a concert.... Most of the time you buy the very over priced T-shirt!! lol
I honestly dont mind the registration mainly because i love the event so much.... I want it to continue!

Yeah, I'm in the same camp. I like the event. $40 is like nothing. I don't usually wear the t shirts anyways (they always use polyester).

Pre-DGRR wrench day next Saturday

Hi gents, over the last few years I have done a 'DGRR Prep' day at my place with a few friends a week or two prior to the event.

I have 4 or 5 guys coming so far and I thought if any of you OGTAs might want to join, the door is open. Its mostly last minute tinkering, going to Mexican for lunch, beers, and shooting ****.

Saturday April 18, show up around 11, leave whenever. At my house in Dawsonville. Shoot me a message for the address!
