Damn it Dave. Sorry to hear that. Just an excuse to build it bigger next time. If I had access to a (free) stand alone, the TII would be bridgeported. I just can't afford that right now. So I'll just rock it with a streetport for now. The main thing is getting it up and running. Then I can start saving the funds for going bridged later on. I got my engine bay wiring done today. I just have to finish the inside. Mount the ECU and such.

just to inform the club, we need to find another place hold our meets. o charleys is now off limits for the club as a whole. there was an incident that made this so. I will not make mention of it for ovious reasons, but im guessing sam and rob need to go scouting out a new location when ever they get the time. I work at the ocharleys as some of you know, and this was brought to my attention by my management team so........ thats that.

I can offer my place for 1 sunday a month as a meeting spot. Only restrictions would be NO FAST DRIVING in the neighborhood where I LIVE!! In other words Don't **** where you sleep.

Also I realize revving wioll happen but I would not tolerate much for my neighbors sake. Those are my only requests/rules.
We can BBQ and wrench on rides etc.. I have most any tool you could need in my box's at work and would bring them home on the meet weekend.
During the summer we could hopp in the lake and cool off. Also plan mountain trips with a luch at the mountain house in Saluda So we can do something different every time and NOT **** off our gracious neighbors/hosts.

Also I would want a PM explaining what happened in more detail..

Nice build Sam! What are you using the 2G trailing coil pack for, your trailing? I always wondered about that, how do you do it??

You guys can meet at my house, make a nice drive! Revving allowed.

That's what we are going to do to the person responsible for getting us kicked out of our meeting spot and putting a black cloud over us!!!

That person should take it upon HIMSELF to admit what they did and apologize to the lot of us AND a punishment of being asked NOT to come to the next 3 meets!! Sorry, YOU committed a MAJOR party foul and it has negetivly affected all of us. You should be punished. And since we are not the law a group imposed BAN works for me. I am very dissapointed in this behavior

Starting a vote for a 3 meet ban:

Dre can you at least PM Sam or Robbie or me about what the specific incident was? Don't have to have names just what was the behavior that tipped the scale. We can then figure out how to correct it and move on.

Isn't there a Red Robin across the street? Or the Sonic around the corner? I think they may be car friendly as long as we are reasonable folks.

Ok need some ideas for busting the front eccentric nut loose on this engine I bought last fall. Here whats been done so far:

Turned the engine on its "back" with the front cover facing up. Filled the cup the nut sits in with PB blaster. Let sit for a few months that way. Hit it with a hammer occasionally to help the PB do its thing.

Today let it sit with a plumbers torch right on the bolt head for about 30 minutes.

Used a 600 psi 1/2" impact to try and bust it loose. No go and I broke the 1/2 to 3/8 converter I used on the 19mm impact socket I had. I have a flywheel stopper on it so thats not an issue.

I took a 4 foot pipe and slipped it over a breaker bar on the same socket and put all 180+ pounds on the end to try and break it free. No go, almost broke the breaker bar tho.

The only thing I can think is to try an even stronger impact. Any other ideas welcome.

On a lighter note...
Who all from our group is planning on going to ZOOM-FEST 09'? I think I am going to contact Billy(organizer) and give a couple ideas of activities for us all to participate in while there. such as: Engine building contest( might be difficult do to the costs of o-rings but a thought nonetheless.
Also, things like fastest tire change, best flame thorwing, worst fuel milage,Best burnout( if allowoed, doubtfull), best idle, easiest starting(FB,FC,FD Rx8,Etc..), Who has the most tools in their car, spare parts in the car, etc..

stupid, fun things like that, Any other ideas throw them out there. Even if you don't plan on going.

Hey Tim, I am at the same point with my FD engine. I had to use a long extension and alot of strength last time. I can come over sometime this weekend and help you out if you like..more than likely the engine got really hot a few times during it's life and the result is galled threads and "heat bonded" bolts. It happens to me about every other day at work...EDIT!!: I just went out after my bowl of wheaties and used my breaker bar and hydro jack handle as an extention. I got it loose. What are you holding the engine with? Even with a Impact gun it will lose all it's force if the engine is not secured tightly. i have mine in my engine stand. You are welcome to use it if you like. Just need to come pick it up as my car is down... Now, on to see the destruction of the front rotor

Dave appreciate the offer, I might take you up on it. My 19mm impact socket is only a 3/8" and I'm almost breaking the breaker bar I have. I'll need to go get me a 1/2" impact socket set I guess and a bigger breaker bar and some pipe to go over it.

Maybe I'll go over to HF in Concord and see what I can get. Get to drive the 7 this way at least.

Good points Dave. The engine is just sitting on the floor with a couple of 2x4s under the rear to make it kind of level. I need some 1/2" impact sockets anyway so I'll get those and a big bar and then see how it goes. Worse case is that I need a front cover and eshaft if I can't get it off PM your address and telephone number in case I need to drop by. Thanks.

PM on the way. The issue with not removing it is that the bolt takes up the endplay and snugs the e-shaft to the front plate. That in turn makes it impossible( for me at least) to lift the e-shaft the needed 1/2 inch or so to remove the intermidiate housing. Just let me know. I am going to be home most of the weekend as I am off work
