Any FD guys have a used MOP pump laying around? I had a TPS out of spec and my MOP is not sending proper voltages to my ECU. I think that is causing my street port idle. I have ruled out just about everything else. Compression good on all faces, no vaccum leaks etc.. Still pulls great vacc but has a lope to it. We'll see what i can figure out tomorrow.

Insomnia crew represent!!
That sounds awesome Dave, I should be done with it by then. I need to get another coat and sand it down once more and I will be satisfied.

Well, since some people never call me back, I'll air my dirty laundry here. I think the half bridge in the SA is leaking a coolant seal in the front housing. I need an engine. I really didn't want to let the half-bridge go with the car anyway. Dave, if you are interested in the block, I would do an even trade for the stock engine in your FB. All you would need is a gasket set ($130), and go ahead and add the bridge to the center iron. Full bridge done! I have about $300 in this engine already. I would rather see this engine fixed than blown up...........

DAMN, Stu, Sorry man, I was crazy busy at the end of the day and forgot the rivet gun and rivets. I will bring then over monday evening after work. I'll leave them if you are not there. Sorry bro.

Sam, Trust me it is nothing against you,.. I don't ever answer that devil machine. I HATE them. I use them for emergency only mostly. Sorry.

Anyways, I don't think I can do that. I need to keep the engine to be eligable for the Lemons rules( for proof of original engine or some ****, not real clear.) Otherwise that would be cool.

Haha, its all good Dave. I kinda didn't want you to come by today, I got the paint but I couldn't find the sand paper! I will try finding 1500 grit, if not then 1000 grit. I am scared of sanding it down, I only have 2 coats before it hits primer, as it sits. After tomorrow, I should have about 4 or 5 on it.

well guys i have to start back at square one on the paint. Sucks but hey you learn somthing new every day. I sanded down to 1500 grit and everything looked great. Started buffing with fine grit compound using a low speed orbital buffer and after cleaning it up i noticed it looked a little weird. I started buffing by hand and well i have primer showing through. I plan on getting some more paint and taking care of it not this coming week but the next while amy is on vacation. I should have it done quickly. Sucks but hey if it was that thin it need more coverage any ways. Just glad i did not have a high speed buffer or i would have really screwed things up.

Shame when you call 2:15am an early night.

Oh and Dave, bring the largest rivets you have. I would like to rivet where the original holes were, if you don't mind. I have a ton of bondo available to use, but I view that source as "the devil".

What size are we talking? How deep does it need to be? They have different depth heads for long applications.. I'll bring what we have at the shop anyways unless I here different.

STu, I have the rivet gun and the biggest rivets we have in thecar. I may leave early today so I will just drop it off at your place if you aren't there.

The rivets are about 1/2- 3/4 inch long and about 4-6 mm thick. Think they will work?

Yeah they will work. Never did any Rivet work, I just wanted them big enough where the holes can't be seen that are already drilled.

Hey bud,

hope that will work for the time being. I'll try the other rivet gun at work before i bring it. ( I may just get one from snap-on tomorrow and say **** it)

Worst comes to worst we can remove the entire thing, touch up the area I nicked and respray the wing . Or just mask off everything else and spray the wing once all the rivets are installed.

I hate shop tools. They never work correctly.

Haha. It's all good. I am about to go out and start screwing under the wing, but it looks like it is about to rain, so its gonna get more muggy over here. egiggeiugn

But it rocks man. I actually took it around the neighborhood real slow, and I got it up to 30mph.. looking into the side mirrors and I can see the wing tips. Its awesome!

Well now I need another housing. I swear, if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any. I don't have any funds to do what I really want with this engine, but I can't stand not having the SA up and running. If anyone feels sorry for me, charity would be greatly appreaciated........
