oh, a page back there was some discussion about dynos in town. I tuned teh RX-3 at static X. I'm friends with some of the people there and they're all memebers of my little brother's car club. Nice clean place and Jeff knows what he's doing.

On an alternative, if you don't mind driving out to decatur you might could call Tom at the Parts Group (partsgroup.com). He's got a mustang dyno with brakes. He doesn't use it much and as far as I know he doesn't have a tuner. If you're wanting to do it yourself you might be able to talk him into a decent deal on time. If you do call him tell him that I (Clayton) sent you and that I wouldn't mind helping out so he doesn't have to sit there and run the dyno all day.

I tuned mine on static's, is there an issue with tuning your own car there?

Dustin, coils and igniter all were fine, however I would like to buy one of the coil packs for back up and the igniter. So figure what I owe you for the spare, coils, igniter, vband kit and hose kit..

I tuned the RX-3 myself there, Though that isn't to say that Jeff didn't give advise or show me some pretty nifty tricks while I was there. Sk8world, I thought you were tuning yours yourself while you were there? My little brother and I were there while you were on the dyno. I think I said something to the effect of, "that's the only car I've seen in here that I had to cover my ears for"

Yes, that was me (Mike) tuning. I was asking by past post's if it was problem for owners to do there own or did static require them to do the tune.

Ok I wanna put my car on the dyno next Friday just to get h.p. numbers and see how much I've gained since the last session. Who's interested in going? Which location and time?

I'd say Static X. I can make it around 5 or so but I beleive they close then .

btw, if you need any safety gear like driver's suits, helmets, gloves, etc. Static X has all the Bell items at a more than fair price. I picked up a new Bell Sport III helmet for $70-100 less than a lot of places online list them for. Of course if they don't have it they'll order it for you. They also cary racetech seats now which are absolutely amazingly comfortable. I literally fell asleep in one while crewing for Tommy at Road Atlanta last year

Low boost on pump first and then make a few fuel corrections before trying high boost. I will probably only go to 15 psi at first and then install my 3 bar sensor and go a bit higher until I reach the safe limit.

I have heard of guys running 17-18 on stockers. I bet you can get them to go 18-19 but I strongly suggest keeping them down to 15-16 max on pump. You really need to have a egt prob in there to see egts when getting serious or run a coinservitive timing map. I also do not see a problem with running some c16 for saftey reasons on the high boost pull.

I agree with mike. The egts will tell you a whole lot. I would not run more than 15-16 pounds on pump without meth/alchohol injection. Plus I would be interested in the turbos compressor maps to see what effieciency they have at higher pressure ratios.

Bring me that rx3 to cut up for a drag car!!!! Nothing looks better than an old school rotary pulling the front tires!
I am still pondering Luis's but its so MUCH work!

So Don, is Friday the day? You want to try and meet up a bit earlier to go over any of it?

Yeah, we can meet up before hand. I'm off work Friday but I have an appointment @ 10 am that will probably last about an hour or so. I need to call and check on available time spot. Which one are we going to use?

Yeah also just for everyone's information, I have heard from Mike at ISC that you can no longer buy a windshield for an RX-3. So it's safe to say that RX-3's in SCCA are soon to be a thing of the past...at least in IT anyway...

yeah they've been out of production and unavailable for quite some time now. You'd be hard pressed to find someone to even custom make them for a reasonable amount of money. I believe most other oldschoolers find them in australia and have them shipped.

ours is cracked, but not in the driver's line of sight so we don't get hassled over it.
