well I got 2 more issues to solve by Saturday night. One is my wastegate issue but I just took it out and found the diaphram was pinched. Also put in a larger spring so the lowest boost I can run is 19-20psi. Hope this keeps it more steady. My other issue is eletrical. I am going to put in another alternator to see if that solves it. When I put the battery in it was showing 14.2 volts at idle. After i drove around a bit it started to go down to mid 13's.

Were you putting a load on the electrical system (i.e. lights, radio, laptop)? About 20 minutes to install your new alternator.

To me it sounded like it had a, pss....pss...pss.pss.pss...pss...pss...pss.pss.pss ..., sound. It also looked like it suddenly puffed out some white(ish)smoke from the exhaust when you were going down the track.

GL getting it fixed, I was really wanting to see what it would do when you got some good runs in.

that sound is dead on. one hitting each face and the other skipping 1 or 2. Yeah, I wanted to see myself what it would do on a clean run. I never got one in (on high bost) since I have been back up. Everytime I got a good 60 footer I would have issues up top (miss a gear) or be on low boost. Its got potential to go high 10's from the trap speeds.

You have to run a NA flywheel, pressure plate, & clutch.

Yes, it's a LSX motor. Very clean car.

You should start a new thread for any up coming meets/events and we should set a date and place.

I'd like to meet some of the local RX guys. I have been out of the loop for a while now and am thinking about getting back into a RX.

Speaking of which, how the hell did my post count get so freak'n low on this site? I've been around this forum since 2001 (longer than most members) and had a hell of a lot more than 15 - 20 post before I stopped checking it everyday. :P

The air show is Saturday and Sunday, same show both days. You could take them Sunday and hit the mountain roads with the Porsche on Saturday... or you only do straightaways now?

Went to the airshow on Saturday and my boys had a blast. We were at the Memphis Zoo on Sunday when I heard about the tent blowing over and the 5-year old getting killed...made me sick to my stomach. I hope that no one on here got hurt on Sunday.

I'm still around, just been busy with work stuff and home stuff...I now have a third kid on the way. Anyway, hate to hear about your motor Mike. I'm in the same situation right now. Took the car up to a little over 450rwhp @ 10.5psi and lost compression on the number 8 cylinder....so I'm having total rebuild done as we speak. Was told by Dynospeed Racing in Memphis that the cylinder let go because I don't have an intercooler and since I don't I should only be running 6psi @ around 400rwhp.

I saw Kenny's car on the cover of one of the tuner mags...man he's done a lot to that car since I first saw it. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't I hear that he got loose in some gravel on the Cherohala Skyway and hit a guardrail or something? If so, man that sux.

I had some guy call me the other about a 94 FD he had for sale because someone told him I might be interested. Anyway, I think he said it had 15k original miles and the motor was unmolested but he wanted to get like $26k out of it. I told him I would pass but told him about rx7club and to post it on here. I think he works at Rhino Linings in H'ville.

Glad to see Don's is up a running. You guys had any gatherings lately?

Yeah, he banged it up at deals gap. Pics are on here...

Sucks about your motor too.. Time to put a 20b in that stang....LOL

That rhino linings guy might be the same guy that owns heritage collision down the street. He has a 93 cym with very low miles and his wife sold a red touring a few months back.

What up B! Yeah, I'm glad it's up and running as well. Went to the tuning session at Walker dyno in B'ham Saturday and strapped it down just to see what I was working with.

The first run (red) was @7 psi using the base PFC map. Second run (blue) turned boost up to about 9 psi but he shut it down when the A/F started to go lean. He said I should be able to get some good numbers once I tune it and add a bit more fuel. For having done nothing but adjust for injector sizes, I would think 267 is pretty decent.

They give you a cigarette when they were done?

Wow, depending on how hard that is, I'd try to do it myself next time. Or do you have to let them bleed ya for it to remain under factory warranty?
Oil filter - porsche oem - $39.99
Oil - 5 qt of oem - $30.00
1 hour to change it - $180.00

That's freakin' outrageous but then again, pay to play in full effect! Go sell some more hockey stuff

Tim

lol Tim.... Believe me I am trying to sell a ton!

Well I think its sold anyway. Hate to let it go and hoping it falls thru... well kinda... I love the car but it just lacks the power I want or need.. If it was making 100+ more I would keep buts thats about a 12k upgrade on it. Maybe I will pick up a viper and see how that goes..

Congrats Don.. 267 is great for almost stock and 9psi. Some dont make that at 12..lol
