Haha, quite alright. If it made you feel better I could slap an SE badge on it. I personally like the 12A more in that car, although the lug pattern can be hard to find wheels for.

Yeeaah, or I could not do that because the expense negates the benefit. If I put wheels on the Cheeto, I'll probably get some Diamond Racing wheels. I can get 15x7 or 8 in just about any lug pattern and offset.

theres not much of an expense to it liz, well at least not the fronts, and you can always just redrill the rear axles while still on the car, though you have them drum things i forgot...

nice then see all you gotta do for 5 lug upgrade is get ahold of fc 5lug hubs/calipers and the re-speed kit for the front and just redrill your axles and rotors in the rear, then bam you got instant(depending how fast you can do the upgrade) options for wheels.

But in other news currently dismantling my subwoofer setup to make room/clean it up for a new/better setup.

I got an idea for a new subwoofer setup... how about empty space? You might as well be hauling concrete.

In all seriousness though, I just don't really see the 5 lug swap as worth it for little Cheeto. If I was gonna spend money on it, I'd probably get it painted.

Well right now the area IS empty space, but unlike everyone else, and ill state it again for clarity, I like to hear my stereo over the rest of the car during trips. It may not matter to you guys that go 10-15 mins to work and call it good enough, but for those of us who drive 20-40 mins to work on top of hour+ long trips back and forth to other places, it makes a difference in a quality sound system vs. nothing at all. Plus empty space isnt even practical for DD usage, sure its all concave and **** but not even ideal for looks or anything else, its all tar and crap back there and its going to get ugly soon...

Hey, I can hear my factory speakers in the Cheeto pretty well. At least while the lights are on. It doesn't go bump bump, but then again, I wouldn't want it to.

yeah its one thing to have a stock car, then stock stereo mounting and speakers are fine. But for a 'louder than normal' car, or for music that just doesnt sound right without it, more bass and a better system is 'wanted'.

Got pics of the repainted hatch area, minus my subwoofers, and pics of the grounding I had done in the engine bay.

I also relocated my SAFC-II to the new black S5 glovebox, just have to find some stronger velcro that wont peel off...or else im gonna have to just hotglue the **** in there.

And I give you "George" the birddog. The only thing I was given that was once my grandfathers, so now he can watch over me to (Cuz remember folks, never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.)

Nice work, Derrick. Is the S5 glove box different?

More friction = more heat, but I wouldn't think it would be that big of a difference. Also if you're burning up all your oil, then having a low oil level will increase your temps.

I ran over my guardian angel a long time ago, then did a burnout on his face. Oops!

Yes the S5 box is different, for one its got 3 internal steel plates making it a bit heavier/stonger, the latching mechanism is made of metal and is 'shorter' than the s4 latch. So i had to swap the latch out for the S4 as well as the locking portion so I could still lock the glovebox.

I do plan on reinstalling my subs, though in a much better incloser, which might weigh a bit more, and possibly afford a better sound quality, and then recarpet the rear so its properly usable again.

Whoa whoa... it's HEAVIER?! Weeeiiiiggghhht!!!! Haha... interesting. I gotta say... you swap out some of the weirdest things on your car man. I would've never thought about doing a S5 glovebox conversion.

I need to drive my TII this week so it'll convince me not to sell it. After seeing what people are selling them for these days, geez it's really tempting.

well i put the s5 box in because it was in mint shape and its black, kinda like my door panels and door sills are now. It matches up better with the cluster surround. As for the wierd ****, eh, its a DD so form/function have to be about equal so I can stand driving it long distances. Mind you I did drive it for a number of months when i first owned it with no stereo whatsoever...and it got old...fast.

Plan is to get these last few items done and out of the way so I can save up for a starion, tow hitch, and either a full size low pro trailer OR just a tow dolley so I can then start trailering the FC to events with extra tires or tow it to places for things like suspension/bushings or when the motor gets redone, or when its time for paint.

But either way, I still get better MPG with a lead foot than anyone else in our area with a 7, and FUN is what counts....I think anyway.

Derrick.. I can build you a fiberglass box.. I should have to keep you car any longer than to make a mold.. although oh my days off I'd would be best if you dropped it off here and me take you to work.. so I can work on fitting.. I would guess I'd wouldn't take more then a few days though if I work on it a lot.. I also should be able to cut cost buying the mat on ebay in bulk. Hopefully getting the entire setup under $200.. Which yes I know is expensive.. but a gallon of resin is probably $50 now it was $35 at the begining of the year but everything is going up.. I'd only need one or two and I have one right now so that'd save you money.. Anyway Just let me know if you are the least bit interested.. We could possibly trade stuff.. It'll keep Jimmy off your back about weight! You can always resale the box leter on.

Oh and while I have the car I'll do the bumper exhaust cover too.

Lol well I'm not concerned about the weight in the center of the car.

But id need a while to regather funding for a fiberglass box, as I still need to plan out how I want it laid out, but upon closer inspection of the original fiberglass bit that the bins sat on, I wont be able to mount the subs behind my seats as planned, a couple 6x9's sure but not my subs. So from the looks of the angling I CAN angle the subs more towards the front of the car, but not by much, about 20-30 degrees at most, but possibly enough to matter to me. But the important part is it needs to be a sealed box, and I have to mount my amp better and reroute the wiring better still as well.

But I might get out some cardboard/plastic to try and get a handle on how i need to design it overall for mounting and sound. but I might take you up on the offer.

Yeah I know what you mean about the no stereo bit, the TII has had a hole in the radio spot for 4 years. Instead of buying a CD player, I bought a blow off valve. It's music to my ears.

I dunno how you can hear it just fine cody...unless of course youve got all your sound deadening and such still in the car. I know your setup is far louder than my old setup, exhaust that is.

But after driving to walmart and back yesterday, the subs are already missed. It just doesnt sound right inside the cabin and feels too empty inside the cabin.
