Does anyone else make a shaft like the GURU ? a friend told me that there is another thats made by a Mr Ken Shepps , he says its the same withe center bearing and all and also a lot cheaper .
That would be Ken Scheepers http://kenscheepers.com/2007_pre-season.htm

It's not neccesarily just high boost. It's great more or less for e-shaft flex in high loads at higher rpm's. The center bearing of this custom 2 piece shaft is the main feature that helps the most. Instead of the e-shaft having support only on the ends (factory e-shaft), it now has the additional support in the middle. Think of it as a piston engine crank shaft with multiple journal bearings that support it across the length of the shaft.

It helped me big time. You still have to clearance the rotors, but the e-shaft does its job and is worth the money.
Side note: I don't know if its worth the risk of the other guys with their prototypes. Not that they aren't qualified, but I'd go with whats proven. Just my .02

I'm going to look into having these made, just in one offs. I already have a machine shop ready, its just a matter of specs and R&D...
With the help of another forum member , I came across an alternative that claims to be similar and better than the GURU at a lower price , Ive put up two of our communications (he didn't mind) for your scrutiny , lemmi know what U think.
Hi Marcel
These shafts are not GURU items, they are actually better because the center bearing runs on a internal race which is pressed onto the crank, GURU runs the bearing directly on the crank which means there is no race that can be replaced if need be. They are made here in New Zealand by an engineer who does custom 1, 2, 3 and 4 rotor shafts used in engines worldwide. Price is 2300NZD plus shipping. The center plate will need to be machined for the bearing and oil feed, any good machinist will be able to do it. Instructions are included.

Hi Marcel
There is no brochure available. All advertising is by word of mouth.
The engineer who makes the shafts is going to send me a pic so I'll foward it on to you when I receive it. The shaft looks the same as the GURU item, pics can be found on GURUs website.
Weight is 6.5kg with bearing and 5.8kg without (lighter than Mazda).
HP is unknown but there are several 13bs making 800+ RWHP with this shaft.
Material is very similar to 4140 alloy steel.
Bearing design is needle roller.

From the description, the builder appears to be Jeff Bruce. He makes multi rotor e-shafts and lives in New Zealand. I can't imagine there being many people there that do.

Another e mail from him with pics , The shaft looks identical to GURU's except for the replacable bearing race thats pressed on making it repairable ,..............
Hi Marcel
Here are the crank pics. I should also mention the journals can be ground to customer spec and the rear main journal is stepped and cross drilled, as per the factory race cranks.
