My first bridgeport: pics + Q's

I just got done with my first bridgeport, using the RB bridge template. There is about 1/16" of material left between the brow and the o-ring groove, so I was thinking about cutting a little bit into the housing(maybe 1/8" or less into the housing). However, the smaller part of the two-peice RA seals will not be properly supported if I do this, so is okay to just turn the seals around so the small part is supported on the primary port side? Also, the RB race exhaust port template was out of stock, so I'm just going to try and port them without a template. The exhaust ports have a small streetport already. Will I need to cut up or down, and by how much?

Heres a pic of the bridge:

Nice work. Personally, I'd add more of a bevel on the closing edge.

looks good. it shouldn't be a problem flipping the seal as long as this is a hlaf-bridge engine.

Don't be tempted to make them any larger. Too many people already do that. They look fine like they are. I also wouldn't worry about beveling the closing edge. You only need to do that if you get too greedy like most people do and try to open the intake port too early. If you've done it sensibly, it won't be needed. It doesn't look like you'll have any issues.

So I can flip the apex seals around and put a chamfer on the housings without a problem? How much should I open up the exhaust port?

Thanks for the advice

I'm going to make my own template, just need a rough idea of how much to port it and in what direction.

Your looking at 15+ hours of porting if your going from stock ports, at least if your a porting n00b like me. I'm assuming you know the required supporting mods?

Open it up a little sooner. Shape the port like a D with the flat side up. Close the port as abruptly as possible. Some guys have had succes with square ports but i'm not a big fan. I don't like the idea of leaving the apex seals unsupported for that much time.

Not quite sure what you mean with the D-shaped port. Could you edit my pic in paint or something to show what your talking about?

look at the last pic that RXBeetle posted in your other thread. that's what he's talking about. i've seen some where the closing edge is totally straight with squared corners, but exhaust ports are like just about everything else. it's a matter of preference and what works for you.

Finished up my exhaust ports! Is the radius on the closing edge big enough? It's about a 2mm radius I think, and it's polished pretty damn smooth. I brought the port up maybe 0.5-1mm, mostly just put a larger radius on it and kept the same shape. I opened the port about 4-5mm sooner, with a large radius along the bottom.

It went really good, the ports are very closely sized to each other.

Heres a pic of the primary ports:
