We finally got started on the tunnels for the exhaust and tranny aswell as finishing the airbox, I received the air filter from KN.

Here you can see we've got the frame over the exhaust already, this will be completely removable by removing a few bolts.

Beautiful work. Good luck with this project!

Any idea of when you expect to have everything completed by?

looks great!!

sorry if these questions were already asked.. but:

what is done internally to the motor?
i.e.
types of rotors
seals
balancing/clearancing
coatings/resurfacings

also:
how big is the intake runners I.D., and the exhaust's I.D.?
are the pps circular openings, or have they been shaped?
what will your redline be, or more specifically, where do you think power will begin to drop off?
and lastly, how much power are you hoping for? (flywheel)

anyways, thanks in advanced, and merry christmas!

I'll answer these in order

all the CLR cooling mods
rotors are S5, lightened and balanced
Ianetti Seals
entire assembly balanced by the Master himself, CLR
Intake ID 2.00", Exhaust ID 1 7/8" (going off memory here, I'll measure next time I go to the shop)
the ports start off round then the bottom drops a bit as it enters the housing
redline, I would "guess" it'll make power upto a pretty high rpm, I plan on shifting at 89-9000rpm so it'll last
Power, I'm really hoping for anything over 400 Rwhp, I like speaking rwhp just because it's what you actually have, say you have 100 flywheel hp but your drivetrain eats up 60 what do you really have?

Well, I took advantage of the holidays to have my motor built. I spent over a week with the Master himself CLR, watching this guy build a motor is like watching an artist create a masterpiece! Sometimes you think he's gone off the deep end with his meticulous techniques but then you realize he's simply a master at his craft, he leaves absolutely nothing to chance, it's either perfect or the process stops until the problem is corrected. He's also come up with some top secret techniques to greatly improve the cooling on the three rotor engine. If a three rotor is in your future, there's no question CLR is your guy!

Below are a few pics of the final product

Hey Al, who is CLR? and where is he located? The build looks great by the way.Lots of time and talent involved. I took the easy way and bought my track FD completed....no where near as exotic as yours but lots of fun.

Also, I know that SpeedSource is in your neck of the woods, does anyone use them as a resource for the 20b? I can't imagine anyone in the country having more on track experience/data on a 3 rotor than Sylvain,David and the guys.
Keep up the good work,
Jim

Yes, CLR has come up with really cool techniques to help the three rotor live. I'd have to defer the questions on the specifics to him. As we all know these engines have a real issue with cooling.

Looks like it's some kind of cooling mods. We are running similar colling mods to my 4 rotor. But it's just 1 extra water line going into the middle plate.

And as far as i know, CLR's watermods are his secret and i do belive he won't share them to anyone.

Would realy like to know something about them tho, as i would like to cool my 4 rotor alot better.

But the engine looks good Al

Thanks for the kind words, I must defer all questions and inquiries regarding the cooling mods to CLR (his user name on the board is GT1-20b) it's taken him a long time to come up with these ideas and this is his business.
Below are a few pics of the motor all dressed up for the prom!

Next on the agenda is the finalization of the floor and exhaust shielding.

Beautiful motor. Carlos is indeed an artist. Nice guy too. I met him at SevenStock a few years ago.

Good luck getting this finished and on track.

Thank you, It took me a long time to remake that intake manifold but I'm glad I did. I'm very excited to finish this project.

that is a beautiful piece but I'm going with the "if it doesn't make you faster you don't need it" approach. did you make that? if not how mu$h did it set you back?

BigAl...

PS for those of you that haven't seen vestracing's project you should check it out, it also is quite the project!
