Thank you for the nice comments.

Update: I had a PRO EFI installed last week, with a quick tune and pump gas dyno. (will be selling a Mines ECU, and a Map 2 ECU soon. Mounted the front bumper and mocked up the headlights (non flips). The lights will take a bit of massaging to mount cleanly. The bumper will take some work to be perfect as well. Overall it fits well for an aftermarket piece already.

After I mounted the bumper today I took the car for a quick spin around the local streets. The car feels very "peppy, and nimble compared to my C6. I didn't boost it as I was on residential streets and on the factory wheels/old tires (that were spinning on the dyno at only 16lbs of boost

That looks amazing! Did you put the Z06 fenders on the Vette? It makes the car look so much meaner... I wonder what will be faster, the FD or the Vette?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Yes, those are Z06 fenders and bumper on my C6.

I would think the FD would be much quicker. More HP, and much less weight.

Car idles and drives nice, but I still need to corner weigh, set ride height, and align the car.

I trimmed the bumper to clear the IC and pipes, and started installing the lights. Once my hood arrives, I will finish the body panel alignment and start prepping body for paint.

Yes, the motor sits high.

The turbo sits even higher. I got the WORST T4 turbo kit available as far as hood clearance. The full-race kit sits the highest (true twin scroll collector). If I would have gotten one of the other HKS type kits, the turbo would have sat below the motor. This is a toy car, and I wanted the Full-Race kit.

full race makes woooooonderful quality equipment too hands down! which turbo did you end up picking with their kit? lol they dont exactly start small for the 2jz

oh and love the car, coming along reallly really nice. i'd be a little curious to know if like the hks twin kit would have fit... mostly cause of the look in the supra hood i always liked along with the power being in the 800ish range which i'd think is plenty for most lol.

Agreed. Full-Race makes the best single turbo manifold for the 2jz imho. I've never been a fan of the HKS twin kits except for the looks.

I went with the GT4088r. Should be fun...

I'm about ready to purchase my 2JZ for my swap, and I am still wondering about your thoughts on the balance of the car. Does it feel front-heavy at all, or more sluggish around turns at all?

I don't want to COMPLETELY destroy the weight distribution of the FD...that's part of what makes it so fun for me...

:/

Awesome!

How does the motor's power feel in that car, being considerably lighter than a Supra?

Must be nice to actually have some torque under the hood. ^.^

I can't wait.

I'm gonna be picking up a motor/tranny in the next few weeks. Just need another paycheck or two.

well while i was driving around i raced a friend of mine in his 1001whp supra and beat him 4-5 times. yes he was spinning like mad, but a win is a win when its 4+ times.
he has all the video of the races, but i think it will be damn near impossible to get that video from him

Hey Guys,
No updates since the tuning with the PRO Efi. I've been super busy and the car is sitting in the garage. I'm getting ready for an event (non car related) the 3rd week in June. It's taken all of my free time (which isn't much), and my energy. I'll be sure to keep you updated. I'm back on the car the 3rd week of June after the show.

Regarding price questions: The standard swap is $15k including parts and labor. Of course that doesn't include shipping the car, nor all of the other aftermarket parts and associated labor for my build. I hope this helps.

Thanks!

whats up stage 7... not only did my 2jz-fd stomp the guts out of a 1001hp supra, but it kicked the **** out of a 630hp awd evo last night! he made 630 whp on 28lbs of boost. he had to turn it up to 38lbs to finally pull on me. hahaha
its all on video, but the bad thing is he has the video of both cars the supra and the evo. im trying to get a copy from him to show you

Hey Diddy,

Congrats on your kills! Were you on pump or race fuel? What boost were you running? How are you enjoying the car all around? I can only imagine how much fun a 2jz FD is. I haven't even put it into boost on the street yet, but the car feels so quick and nimble compared to a Supra and my stroked C6. I can't wait to finish it and give a more detailed review.

im still only running 14lbs of boost making 550whp and 380's ftlbs all on E85... gota love making those kind of numbers on cheeeep pump gas!
i love driving the car. it doesnt feel the least bit heavy in the front when cornering hard. i will say that if i were road racing the car, i would need a much smaller turbo setup. with this setup it would make to much power, way to fast and it would try and push the rear past the front in corners. but with a stock twin or small single setup it would be a monster on a road race course.

new hp numbers!
im still running the stock fd rearend and axles but we decided to test them and see how far they will go???
turned the boost up 4psi and made 606whp and 438ft tq on E85. i swapped out the 1000cc injectors and replaced them with 1600's.
now i have to buy an ignition... its blowing out the spark and i can run any more boost (sad)!
but 606 will work for now

i have the new cusco rear diff, need 300m axles. after i get those installed i will get my ignition, alcohol injection and make 850+!
