Quick update: I just received the tracking # for my hood. They sent me pics on Andrew's yellow car. It looks sick.

On another note. Andrew happened to be in NY this past weekend. He came to my house and had dinner. Great guy. It was nice to put a face to a voice I've been speaking with the last 8 mos. We took a cruise in my Corvette, and he let me try out the Lexus Hybrid (awesome car - I want one).

Now that the hood will be here this week, I don't have another performance until Aug, it will be full speed on the 2jz rx7 in July.

I'll be more active with updates in this thread starting July.

Gee, it certainly looked like you were just bragging about your own car and taking over his thread.

Start your own thread. Oh, that's right, you had one. What happened to it?

Did you ask yourself the same question before you started bragging in his thread? Didn't think so. If you wanted to compare notes, there's this amazing new thing called private mail...

and yes i ASKED for them to delete my thread.
Next time, remember to ask them to delete your account too.

yes, im well on topic. so dead on topic that im talking about my 2jz-fd. funny thing is he has the same thing! damn! he can look forward to the same thing, same numbers, etc. plus i could have saved time time and money with both the ignition or the fd stock rear end. now he knows what power levels they will hold. so yes to say again I am on topic.
you run out of money?

Man, it's been a while since I checked this thread....

And go figure, when I come back, the last 5+ posts are nothing but bickering..

C'mon guys.

Roach, if you're in the San Diego area, I'd REALLY like to see your car.

I'm stationed on the Naval Base right at the bottom of SD.

What do ya say?

Stage7, my apologies for the hijack. Roachdidy can continue to look like a jackass if he really wants to, but I'll refrain from helping him.

The hood will be here on Wed. I'll post some update pics this weekend. I'm trying to get in touch with someone to come to my house to set my ride height, and install my Stoptechs this weekend too.

Update: Roadway freight has dropped the ball. My tracking # still shows 7-2-2008 as the expected delivery date, but the hood is still in Strausberg PA. Unless a miracle happens, I won't have the hood this weekend. I'm pissed. I took Monday off too for an extra day to work on it.

my burnout kit took almost 2 weeks longer to get here when being shipped due to the flooding here in the midwest. Hell my 99spec bumper lights took 4 days longer from UPS from the same thing.

Man, still no updates?

:[

I was looking at RX-8's today...

I considered selling my FD, the 2JZ swap kit, etc....

And then I decided not to.

I am leaving sooner for Maine (where my ship is being built) than originally planned, which means I get the money the Navy owes me sooner...

Which MEANS....

I can pick up a damn motor/motorset sooner. Yeesh. As soon as I get my damn motor, piecing together the rest to get it running will only take a few more months.. I'm shooting for Christmas time before the car is actually drivable...

Back on topic..

Stage7, did you get the hood yet?

I'm really interested in knowing your continued thoughts on the car as a whole.

Please update.

Update:

Well...Roadway "found" the hood and delivered last Thur...destroyed. Lucky I had them open the box before the driver left. Tech2 came through and aired me another hood last Friday. It is supposed to arrive today. Hopefully it comes undamaged.

I haven't worked on the car as the bulk of the bodywork is aligning the aftermarket lights, hood, bumper, and fenders. I need the hood to go any further. The rest of the body is very straight. Only 40k on the car. The primer on the passenger door is from the previous owner. It looks like the car was keyed on that door. I'll be sanding all of the old primer off when I'm ready to prime the rest of the car.

Also, I'm building a large shed to make more room to work on the car as I currently only have a one car garage. The shed should be done in the next 2 weeks.

Awesome...I'm thinking using my "going single" fund to go this route. I look forward to seeing the finished product. When you said PS and AC were retained it really swung me over. Good luck with the hood.

aluminum would help with the weight but it would take away from its ability to handle the boost it does now. nothing likes boost like an iron block
