Hehe, that would be awsome!
Hopefully I will be back at work in the end of next week. Then I will start thinking about the 4rotor Wolvo-car, but there will be very much at work to do, so have patience. I will rise

Well, I'm back at work, my shoulder seems to work fine. Now I will try to work as hard as possibly on "the work" so I could have more time to my projects! Thanks for your patience!

That could be you some day also! Just be curios, obstinate, drink some coffee, and you will innovate

I almost cried when I started reading this thread...

Glad you're healed, good luck with work and godspeed...

You said that once you are done you'll be sharing the "plans" for the project? is this still true?

I have worked in CAD this weekend. There is many things to find out. Rigth now it the Involent Splines in the rear end of the axle. I have never before worked with splines, and of course I wanna try to do them myself.

Is there any of you that have any ideas or can give me some links where I could read and learn more about Involent Splines.

Have used Google ofcourse, but it's getting all over my head in a while.

I will update the engine-build as much as I can as the work goes on. Probobly will I help anyone who wants to try themself. But I don't think I will put out the compelete blueprints before I know it works. And even then it will be a little secrets But I salute anyone who are serious willing to try build there own 4rotor!

Will probobly use an ANSI 24/48 - 27.
M= 1.0583
It's max 29.633mm Outer dia, and 27.20mm in bottom of the splines. 27 splines, and involent-profiled with 30grd.
With a given power of 500kW (680hp) and 10000rpm the safety-number would be around 2.25.

Hope you understand my poor english?

Your English is pretty good, they are called involute splines and we typically say safety-factor instead of safety number. But, that is just being picky

The splines look great in that image, it appears that you are using Autodesk Inventor? I've never modeled splines like those before can you give a close up image of them? I assume that you drew it 2D and extruded it to the desired depth?

Those drawings I've posted are made in MasterCam X4 actually.
They aren't 100% real, but good enough for the model. Then the spline-machine will do it right anyway as long as I use the right module-tool and settings.

i still don't really see how you will get the stat gears to work with the standard 13B center irons.

Who said anything about standard?
I will USE the standard, but they will not be standard when I'm finished with them

Holy ****... This thread, is god. How have I not seen this before?

Good luck with the build man, when I'm older, I hope to do something similar with an NSX. This build will be my main inspiration.

Have drawn the rear counterweight. It's not precise, but near enough at the moment.
This weekend I moved the last from my old appartment to our new house, so soon the "build" will continue
