Alright finally got this **** back on the road. I got some new Chromoly adjustable 4 links and panhard rod with hine joints to replaced the stock one's so I can fine tune the rearend and also because the rearend shop didn't make all my brackets perfect so these took care of that. Mounted them up and they work bitchin. Real easy to set up the rearend now. Just need to take to the track and start fine tunning it. Need to buy 1/4 wheel spacers to move the wheels out because the stupid rearend shop shorted my rearend too much- 1" too much! Idiots. Well thru all the pain and suffering the rearend is done. I also took the car to Rene's and got a new trans. crossmember made and finish welding the rearend brake line brackets.
Removed my transmission today as well and found out why I had a leak at the bellhousing. When you mount the old school bellhousing to the turboII trans there is an extra hole in the bottom that is not used because the old school bellhousing only uses 8 bolts. Well, I didin't look inside that bolt hole because it goes all the way thru to the oil galley of the trans. So I cut the end off of a bolt and notched it and screwed it in the whole with some sealant to plug it up and resealed the bellhousing- no more leaks now! Car is now ready to take to the track. Hopefully this week or next week I'll take it to Irwindale and give her a run. I'll keep you guys posted on the results. Here's some pics from today.

Dang man, those end links look great. That's exactly what I wanted to do to my rear end!

Congrats on getting her road worthy again!

Congrats Jay! It looks like a solid set-up, just like the solid times you'll be putting down on the track.

Ok got a good update. Just got back from Irwindale 1/8th mile track. My first run I was really caught off guard on how the 9" with slicks hooked up and it threw me back in the seat really hard and I let off on the gas pedal and ran a 9.5 at 82mph- this was a shakedown run and the car launched and went straight as an arrow down the track! Second run I launched at 6000 rpms and ran an 8.44 at 84 mph with a 1.8 60ft and I still bogged from the launch. Final run I launched at 7000rpm's and ran my best ever of 8.2 with a 1.7 60ft at 84 mph! I smoked a heavily modified mach1 mustang in the left lane. I also treed his ***! I am very happy with how the new rearend worked out and I know with some higher launches and some tweeks here and there I can get down into the 7's. Here is a picture of my time slip- I'm in the right- Toyota lane.

Just sharing my experiences. I used to launch my 12abp on the limiter at 9900rpm. Then I would drill the nitrous. 26x8 tires. Launch that bitch off the limiter!
Good job!

Your 1/8th mile times translate to about a 12.90 ET! Very nice. Whats the car weigh?

Thanks. I'm not sure on the weight, but the car has no interior and one race seat. The 9" added some weight. I'm guessing about 2200lbs +/-.

Yeah, I have to launch at the rev limiter or a two step. I don't have either at the moment, but am going to get that soon.

take of the front sway barr , strap the front end down" limmiting straps" about 1.500 " of travel up on the right side 1.250" on the left side do a manlly burn out pop the clutch at 10000k grab your o **** handle and your 60' will go down to about 1.4xxs

Manny, will taking off the front sway bar effect any steering/stability issues as on the rx2 it ties into the lower control arms and helps adjust and maintain caster? Can you elaborate on how and where to install these limiting straps? I alway thought you want the front end to come up, with looser shocks, so that the weight transfers to the rear?

check this out grasshopper , when you take a jack and jack up the front end from the center of the car how long those it take the front tires from getting off the ground , about a good 6 to 8 inches from the top of the tire to the fender lip , now when the car launches and tryies to transfer weight since the front separates so dam much it takes the load out of the rear tires ,. this is where the straps come into play , by limiting the travel of the front end when the impact of the clutch is set off the frontend gets yanked up to the set point of the straps making the wheight transfer to the rear and staying at the rear, and that would make really nice 60' as for the sway barr never mind there is a bit more to it than just yanking that bitch , here is a pick of the 12a corolla that ive been working on it had mayor traction issues it ran in pomona two years ago 12.7xxs with 1.8xxs 60' now the car is doing 1.3xxs , i got that covered two weeks ago now it all about making more power see if you can spot the traps ,all they are is high tension wire and notice the separation of the fron tires to the fenders thats how u get to transfer weight , so get that bucket ready so the corolla can rip u a new one and btw it has a whole 100th in gears below you so you should be able to get better 60'
