Thanks, but I called them up and they did not want to mess with the rx2 factory 4 link bracketry. Said it was too much work. Hoopers was the only place that would man up, but on the down side you have to wait forever.

Of all the local rearend shops within 100 miles of me, Hoopers is the only one that would take the job. Everyone else pussed out.

Maybe because I'm a whiteboy. I think they were really busy??

Well, good news. I just got off the phone with Hoopers. Looks like my rearend will done tonight and I'm picking it up in the morning. That gives me time to install the rearend and get my driveshaft measurements so I can get my driveshaft made and then it looks like a good posibility that I may make Sevenstock afterall? Wish me luck

Don't you have a job Wacky? LOL What are you talking about? I have one of the only old school rx threads that actually rebuilt an engine/chassis and has the car on the road. LOL. I can't help it if some other hacks can't do their job. Live and learn- if you want it done right- do it yourself. So are you going to have one of your cars ready for Sevenstock or are you going to redoo the interior for the 10th time?

Just for that I'm going to change my sig for you, you little biotch.

Good news ladies. I just finished installing my new 9". Poopers, I mean Hoopers dropped it off at my house at 4:00pm and I just got done installing it in the car. Naturally some of the holes were not perfectly square in the brackets and I had to open them up to line everything up. Also, since the tubing size is at 3" they did not raise the holes up a little for the shock mount so I had to grind the bottom of my shocks to clear the housing tubes so I could put the bolt through. I also had to cut the front bottom fender to clear the 26" slicks. I had to cut very little. The only thing that is off is the center tie bar. I have to shorten it by about 1/8-1/4" to center the diff and wheels side to side. I made my measurement for my driveshaft and am going to order it tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm going to bend and route the brake lines and then friday I am going to go to Renes' to do the trans. brace. I don't care if I hold this bitch up with bailing wire, it's going to make SEVENSTOCK!
I'll post some pics tomorrow. Finally some good news for a change. Damn!

Sorry guys, I've been running around trying to get this car ready for sevenstock. I spent all night last night bending and making the brake lines for the rearend. Went to install my new 3.5" alluminum driveshaft and the yoke is too large. I now have to send it down to the shop to get the yoke ground down.

Whoever told me that the dodge/chrysler truck yoke will work with no mods is bullshit!

I'll try and post some pics tonight if I have time, which I probably won't.

Alright, rearend is in and pretty much finished. All I need to do is weld the brackets that hole the two rubber brake caliper lines secure to the housing. I will zip tie to get me to Sevenstock until then because I am out of time.

Have a new delema. My new driveshaft will not go into my trans. I am having a yoke problem and am trying to sort that out by tomorrow or I ain't making it.

Here are some pics of the rearend, 3.5" alluminum driveshaft with upgraded 1310 u joints and a chrysler yoke(should fit, but I am having problems), and my tranny mount. I am not going to have my crossmember ready in time so I will support the trans. with the one I had before with some ghetto tactics to get me to Sevenstock, LOL.

Measure the OD of the yoke with a dial caliper to see if it matches stock. The yoke to tailshaft bushing clearance is very important because if it's too tight then when the tranny gets hot the yoke will expand and seize the bushing. with a locked up yoke the rear tires lock and around you go. then the bushing spins in it's bore and destroys the tailshaft housing.

I had a new driveshaft made for 1st gen and had same problem. Per builder I wetsanded the yoke with an emeroy cloth but could only tap it in part way. It needs to slip in there real nice by hand.

We had to pull the bushing out of the tailshaft and machined the ID a hair larger. It was a newish bushing, very low mileage.

Thanks guys.

Well, I have been up since 6 am and have been running around all day trying to get this driveshaft sorted out. We tried everything to try and make the Chrysler 904 yoke work but it wouldnt'. So after several attempts to mill tho OD on the yoke and failed, I drove all the way to Garden Grove and picked up the upgraded RX7 TII replacement yoke with the larger u joints-7260 and the guys at Inland Empire drive line made me a complete new driveshaft. I can't recommend these guys enough. Total opposite of Hoopers, these guys were so helpful and without them I wouldn't have got my car ready for Sevenstock. We are still working on trying to make the larger yoke/u joints)(1310) work and if we figure it out I'll let you guys know. Well the only thing I Jimmy rigged was the trans. crossmember and my tranny is puking but this will get my car to sevenstock. Here's some pics of it on all fours.
