1984 RX7 Not Running

Hey guys, about a year ago I purchased a 1984 rx7. It didn’t have an engine in it, so I bought a parts car that contained a 12a. Fast forward a year, I have the 12a in my car and all connected. The problem is it won’t run for very long. I rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new fuel filter, pump, and fuel lines. It doesn’t seem to be getting gas very effectively even after all this work. It starts, runs for about 10 seconds and then dies. It seems like it can’t idle on its own either. What else could the problem be?

I would remove the fuel tank and then the pickup and inspect for hardened sediment in the tank. If the car sat for some time, the fuel tank may need to be professionally cleaned. You may be sucking up sediment and clogging the fuel filter or carburetor. Have you pulled the fuel filter to check and see if there was sediment in it?
