Yeah, I meant to tell you the other day. The ones that are empty now are in pretty bad shape, they said they would not rent them b/c the roof looks as if it could come down anyday. They said they will have some available at the end of July or August sometime. I will keep you updated. I would be racing if I could.....trust me!

No problem.
Calvin, if you want to run you should sign up asap. Registration fills up pretty damn fast. I have a permanent number so I don't have to worry about it, but we've had over 100 cars at the past few events.

well, project rx2.3 just had a huge jumpstart.

start off, joe pulled the motor today, so i have a low milage motor with a fresh t3 turbo. i just need to get it to my house.

along with that, joe bought a parts car from a friend of ours. the car was fine, but the guy (adam) needed quick money and couldnt afford his car anymore. so joe is taking the 300hp+ motor and putting it in his merkur, but the following are mine

-transmittion
-drive shaft
-ecu
-wiring harness
-fuel pump
-clutch mastercylinder
-boost controller that was on the car (dont know what brand)

with those peices, i can put the car physically in. now i need to get a intercooler, bov, turbo timer, boost and a/f ration gauge, exhaust, and a few other things. im shooting for end of summer, and i think i might be able to do it

Maybe I will have to go back and read something that I missed. What in the world are you building and what are you putting it in?

well, it was a secret.. but blah...

im putting a 2.3T out of a Merkur XR4Ti. 200hp stock, with 210ft.lbs or torque (i believe) into a spare car i have JUST like mine.

go to boostbros.com. watch the videos, read the mods, read the track stories, its tells the story

oh, and for the record without all the rear end work, theres a guy on the first gen board with the same thing. stock junkyard motor, dried out tires, low 13's.

You should take off the rx-7 badges and make rx-2.3 badges.
David, it's the same motor that was in that truck that went up in flames at Battle of the Imports (40psi!).

yea, im going to get a decal place to make me a vinal decal in the same font as the "rx7" logo on my car. its just going to say "Rx2.3"... or something like that.

40psi is alot. im going to start off at 18psi, and seeing how things go from there, ill probably go 20psi on the street. my friend with the turbocoupe (adam, the same motor joe is putting in his merk) ran 22psi daily.

Joe, did you say Crutchfield sends you inserts for the rear towers if you order 6 1/2s? My setup is pretty lame right now.
Gordo, Amanda just called. We might be getting together Sunday night.

It is kind of ironic how very few domestic cars ran and it happened to be a domestic car that had the big fire.

1.1- Maybe you should take off the RX anything sticker and put an XR4TI sticker. Or maybe a Mercury sticker. Why not just bridgeport a 13B and put that in it? Wouldn't that cost less and still be rotary.

i had bought a 13b to street port and put in my car, but it was estimated over 2700. i cant afford that. my friend joe joked around and said "ill give you my motor for $20 (since he was going with a different one) if you stuff it in your rex. he told me about a guy who did it. i looked it up, im at $700 including everything from the motor/tranny, to gauges, intercooler, bov..

and if you want to get technical, the Merkur is european. from what ive read, the motor isnt made by ford at all, but ford bought the design.

1.1 Sounds good. Good luck with the project. What transmission are you going to run. Are you going to switch to the Mercury wiring or go with an aftermarket computer like an AEM or Haltech?

Zach- I'm sure you could make some inserts is none are provided. If you can rebuild a rotary then this should be a piece of cake.

im using a t5 out of a manual 4 cylinder mustang. i thought they would be peices of ****, but obviously not. if you havent gone yet, go to www.boostbros.com. thats on that same tranny. if you read in the "track stories" his first run, stock motor, 18psi, missed 3rd gear, and ran a 12.9. thats insane.

i will be running a turbocoupe ecu along with that wiring harness. a.) its free b.) it will think its moving a 4000lbs thunderbird, not a 2300lb rx7
