werd.

Actually, he should keep the exhaust off of it completely, change the cam, and idle it really low so that it sounds like the opening beat to "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen.

That'd rock...

so yer debating whether an X or a Y.

based on amount of room you have to work with, a Y would prob be smarter. gotta do the cutout though :-p

i'm pelting creative labs with how my x-fi wont let the BETA drivers work under Vista (there are no finished drivers yet).
this is a known problem already, but i'm bored and they deserve it.

I actually liked vista... I like it a hell of a lot more than I liked XP when it came out, it took me several years to switch over from windows 2k.

my sound doesn't work in vista either which sucks... I installed the vista beta drivers too. I'm dual booting to vista and XP now, but spend most of the time in XP just because I like having sound...

I have a realtek integrated sound card though. (yay nforce 5)

WoW sounds fine to me using the onboard audio, havent tried any other games yet as im still reinstalling apps. my XP install crapped out mysteriously the same day that vista arrived so i dont have the dual boot anymore. might put it back as a failsafe but vistas handling other stuff fine as is.

i just want my fatal1ty card to work

Windows 98SE to teh max!

Actually, I run XP, but it also took me a LONG time to switch over from 2K...

I'd say I swapped over at the same time SP2 was released. I just don't like looking for **** that's been moved to another area for no good reason... 2k and XP with the classic windows theme seem exactly the same...

And I WANT the "My Computer" and "Network Computers" icons out there. (Yes, I change the cutesey "My Network Places" and "Network Neighborhood" icons to something more utilitarian... This ain't Mr. Roger's neighborhood.)

XP still is 2K with crap added into it... Which is NT with the 98SE GUI on top of it...

The 98SE GUI is the 95 GUI with crap added into it.

It all runs on top of DOS, which is CP/M with crap added to it.

In the end, we're all running and buying the same thing, just giving cash (yeah right) to make the richest man in the world richer.

I'd be a Linux weenie (Actually, I'm more partial to FreeBSD) if I could stand to deal with writing my own drivers for everything. I just want **** to work without having to buy and reinstall a new OS every few years.

Windows sucks, use FreeBSD... or if you HAVE to have a pretty GUI, use a mac!

I only use windows when I have to (to develop for the megasquirt), and I'm working on getting away from it for that as well.

hola all I'm new to the MD area (lanham) and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good shop to go to in the area. Yesterday my all my FD's dash lights came on. I first thought it was the alternator, but I soon remebered I had that removed and a pully kit from rx7store.net placed on it. So now I think the belt went bad. Which brings me back to my first question. Anyone able to help Thanks in advance

if you really want to be specific, NT is actually based on a really bastardized version of UNIX, hence why its more stable than the DOS based versions of Win9x. but that was back in NT3.5-NT4.0 and it got mostly replaced with proprietary code in 2k. now 2k3R2 and vista have it back with the INTERIX kernel which lets you run *nix natively inside windows (mostly so people could move programs off AIX boxes and the like). this is an integration of the old free Services For Unix that MS gave away for free to compete with Linux.

If the belt went bad, it's easy to see, it wont be spinning the alternator! (Or it will make a horrible noise)

Just look in there and you'll be able to tell.

If you doubt your alternator, just check your voltage at the battery.

You can bring the car by and I'll look at it if you want.

I've heard PFS in Frederick is a good place to go to get your car worked on, but I've never gone myself.

That’s my problem check www.rx7store.net and see how the pulley kits say they replace the alternator. I know I placed that pulley on my car, and you’re sayin if the belt went bad I would hear a noise. I didn't hear a thing the whole ride home when the lights came on. So maybe the battery is weak. But meeting up would be luv, finally I get to meet rx7 owners The names Ty

i bet after I tell you what I got the FD for you will hate me. When I was in Washington State the seller was going through a divorce so he didn't want his wife to get it so he let me have it for 12k that's with the engine and turbo being redone.
