I would post this in the second gen section--but that section sucks.
A couple of questions--first
I am putting in another motor and I see that one of the oil metering lines is cut right in half right above the nipple where it connects .Can I take off the piece and reconnect it or is it a piece deal?
Second question, when you take off the air control valve, and add a block off plate to run a header--do you leave the manifold check valve in it or take it out.It looks like it sticks out just a little and would not make a good seal.

Got a quick question: '88 GTU has been running fine all week so I decide I'll keep it and get it inspected.I drive 65 miles round trip, pass inspection, get the car back to work, park get in to leave and it won't start.****** just spins. Where should I start first? Goddamn FI! Long live the Holley carb! Thanks, that felt good to get that out. I'm gonna let it sit tonight and go see what it does in the morning. I shoulda had a V-8!

Its probably flooded, pull the fuse out--fuse box underhood second fuse closes to motor
turn it over about 15 seconds ,2 or 3 times--pop back in and floor it when you crank it--might take a few times.Hope you have a good battery.

Well, I'll try to redeem myself by etching "Mazda" in the chrome valve covers! I don't think the fuel injection gods like me too much.

I've heard people say you can reuse the piece, but i've broken 2 OMP lines and was never successful reconnecting the piece. I always end up goin to Koons Mazda and ordering then complete tube with connectors pre attatched.

OMP Line: I _reccomend_ just getting a new one.
Check Valve: You can leave it in or take it out, it doesnt matter.

Went out today and the car started right up! Oh well, never know what these FI cars will do. I'll keep my fingers crossed and bus fare in my pocket!

BP: nice dude glad to hear the car started.

~ anyone here know in depth about the FD sequential turbo setup? I want to duplicate it with mechanical instead of ecu controlled solenoids ( i have read that the ecu just looks at rpms when activating them.. not sure how valid it is, but i need to know. ^.^)

I'm hoping to do 8-10psi with intercooler when it's finished.

it could have been suds, he has a black S5 GTU and he lives in catonsville, but I'm not sure if he's driving it around much these days.

got an 89 gtus without turbo that I'm rebuilding, just came out of paint and am putting the interior together. I,m considering an aftermarket supercharger for it. I'm out here in Frostburg, Md but would love to get together with people after its on the road. any advise on the sc mod?

there are a couple people who have done it... I haven't really looked into it. I don't really like the idea. rotaries (non-renesis more so) really shine with turbos because of the powerful exhaust pulses. I would probably just message some of the guys around the forum that have done it asking for their advice.

I think it's a great idea, but only if you know what you're doing because it would be tough to find support for that sort of thing. Personally I'd just go with a turbo because more people with RX7's know them. But what do I know? I put V8's in all of my Mazdas

As said before, less efficient. But, both mods are pretty easy to do.
