Even if you gain a new number every year, it doesn't mean you aren't allowed to enjoy simplier forms of entertainment....

Please tell me this is going on nothing short of an 6 liter V10 which will see lengthy periods above 6K RPM... Or atleast a car with a 4 liter displacement and an ungodly large turbo, let's say something above a T-72...

If not... (and don't take this as shooting you down, I just can't understand) please explain what benefit you believe 4" piping would have on a low displacement engine? I think its pretty much been beat into the ground that most engine of the sport compact type are right at home with a 3" and on rare occassions 3.25". Maybe I'm missing something... (I doubt it, but maybe)

I've seen 4" exhaust on all kinds of "sport compacts". hell I've seen supras with 5" exhausts, and they're only 3 liters. pretty much if you have a turbo that supplies all the back pressure you need, and any exhaust that's after that just needs to help the turbo spool faster.

They're are plenty of Supra's (the majority you see dyno-queening 1000+RWHP have them, contrary to what you probably think) running between 5-7 inch exhausts.

Now, put into this equation, the fact that RX-7's push out a LOT MORE exhaust than you're average piston engine.

FAIL.

yeah, 13B's only displace 1.3L, but they pull in as much air per rev as a piston engine that's 2.6L... (In fact, that's how you set up the megasquirt when you're setting it up... as a 4 cyl 2.6L engine with 2 injectors). With a big turbo there's a lot of air going in so a large exhaust pipe makes a lot of sense to me.

I know of guys with turbocharged 20v 4age engines (1.6L) with 3 inch pipes...

Hey err, Ken..

You might be the wrong person to ask for this (I was directed to Theo by Jason, but he didn't answer)..but uh, will there be any Plug-N-Play Megasquirts for sale soon? My car will be completely finished in about 2 weeks, and er, it won't run the AUX ports without a MSnS, lol!

I really really need it, very soon..

why do you need the MS to run aux ports?

you're going to have to get an electric air pump like jason has.

Uh, whats going to tell the air pump to turn on? MSnS takes over the control of what an RPM switch would do. I don't want to buy an RPM switch, only to then get an MSnS which makes it worthless..

You can use the stock airpump with a splitter

The point isn't whether or not it can but whether or not its efficient. Having too much exhaust pipe can hurt performance by distrupting laminar flow. Not knocking him, just wondering what application the exhaust is going on. I'm very well aware of what conditions 4" and larger exhausts have been used and that still doesn't make them the best exhaust for the job.

I answered. There are no PnP units as of.

Buy one and usse a custom harness, or run without Aux ports for the time being.

The best exhaust for the job would be one that allows your turbo to spool the quickest without blowing your eardrums in the process.

I already have a complete 3 inch turbo back setup now and some of the top tuners I have talked to seem to think that a full to4 is limited by just a 3 inch exhaust setup. If you have noticed in the last to years, 400rwhp used to be the bench mark of a turbo rotary. What a 60-1 used to do at 20lbs with race gas a newer line of turbo these days does at 15lbs and on pump 93. But in the last year with guys starting to go the way of the supra owners and try the larger down pipes and full exhaust systems they are starting to see 500 and up where they used to only get 400.

Worst case is that it doesn't work and I have to go back to the 3. Thats the beauty of having money for R&D.

They'll be ready soon, Theo and I are working on them...

However, it'd be good if you supplied a broken stock ECU with the same connector configuration as your car as we still have no supplier for new ones.
