neat

http://www.racer.nl/

thats a FREE racing simulator thats fully customizeable and has a MUCH better physics engine than GT4. (it even takes wheel hop into account aside from calculating 15 separate degrees of freedom per car) plus you can do neat stuff like program it to make it do more stuff.

living in fear of a mall isn't all that good for you, either. break-ins happen at EVERY mall...so what do you do? get a better alarm...or make sure nothing's visible in the vehicle...or just let things happen as they will. there's insurance on the car for a reason. my car's been vandalized, broken into, and has had things ripped off it - but everything was covered by my insurance. sure, it's upsetting, but if it's going to happen, it'll happen - barring you sitting in the car watching the world with a rampant paranoia in your eyes, you CAN'T stop it from happening.

On the topic of coming over, I have to unpack all my crud. I've got pretty bad ADHD, so I'm wondering if anyone could come over to my house and keep me company, and tell me when I get distracted

I do that when attempting to clean my room...

I pick something up and if it has something written on it, I read it...

Or When doing laundry, I put the clean clothes on the bed, then go somewhere or do something, then it gets late and I have to goto sleep... But there's a huge mound of clothes on my bed... So I kick them off and there's a clean pile of clothes at the foot of my bed... So now I can't mix dirty clothes with them, dirty clothes go behind to door till I can't open it, or there's no clothes at the foot fo the bed anymore... Do laundry, cycle repeats...

Liability only coverage here... What I need is some high explosives rigged to the alarm... Sure I'll be out a car, but I'll feel a lot better knowing the bastard got what was coming to him.

Yeah... She's a member here...

This proves nothing. Most FD owners pay to have thier stuff installed...

Find me a girl that owns a 1st gen... With a very poorly tuned carburetor so that it runs rich all the time (Fragrance of preference: Eau de Gasoline)... Who keeps a set of wrenches and sockets in one storage bin, along with a bottle of MMO and spare spark plugs... *purrs*

That's proof without seeing her turn wrenches. No shop in their right mind would touch a 1st gen... Cept maybe RP in Manassas... (Or maybe I don't know that many local shops.)

Aside from that, I'd have to see her fix (or break) something before I'd pay much attention to.

I dunno what it is (Actually, I do... But it'd make this post unnecessarily long...er.) about a girl with a wrench, but it's a turn on. Makes me wanna hump her leg.

I guess it's why I refrain from doing so in the lounge. There've been plenty of pics of girls posing ON cars, but none under them.

When I see in person a girl dismantling something, rest assured, hilarity will ensue. (I've learned everything I need to know about women from the lounge!) If video equipment is present, it will be saved for posterity and maybe a little prosperity.

see...the car i work on, and put all my time and effort into, would most certainly be covered fully. otherwise...yeah, i don't want to think about what COULD happen, knowing where i normally go in a week.

*coughs* HAD an FB, but was forced to sell it...and i was looking forward to taking apart the motor, too. i'm used to seeing piston motors yanked apart...they're a piece of cake...but a 13b would be that much cooler to see. if only i'd have had storage space for that car... *sighs* one day, i will own another FB. those little beauties are too...well...beautiful for me to never own one again.

you want to see a chick working on her car? wait till i start doing the swap in the FC(that Jason's gonna yell at me about if i don't go down there to start working on it soon...). you're more than welcome to come out - but there will be no spectators or "supervisors." everyone who comes out to see me work on the blasted thing will be put to work themselves. why? i don't like having an audience.

...and just because it's early as hell, and i'm tired(just got up for work - blah), i'm going to indulge you for a split second: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...040124_025.jpg

i know i'm disgustingly clean in that pic, but fer cryinoutloud, i was changing the oil...one doesn't need to get dirty doing that! of course, shortly after i was finished on my car i helped my friend install a new torque converter on his car...

This isn't an invitation, is it?

i helped my friend install a new torque converter on his car...
Know much on Auto Trannies? Lemmie pick your brain.

Basically, I'm wondering in your situation, how did you decide to replace only the Torque Converter vs the entire gearbox?

EDIT: More info earlier in this thread or in the General Automotive section. RE: '85 Camry.

Debating on finding a manual and drilling holes in the firewall for the clutch master... Or finding a manual tranny car and cutting this one up for parts.

well, my friend has been slowly working on his Corolla to get it ready for the ginormous turbo he's had sitting in his garage for a year. he got a high stall torque converter from levelten(i could find info if you wanted, though i doubt you will for the camry...). essentially, he didn't see the point in changing the gearbox, just upgrading the tc.

i still think he's a fool for trying to make his automatic, insanely heavy 01 Corolla into a speed demon, but whatever...i was bored, he'd never done it before, so i figured i'd help out. we also had a pro mechanic "leading" the whole ordeal.

they ended up breaking a few things when i left, too...typical

that's honestly the first auto i'd ever done anything to - beyond repairs, i don't see the POINT in working on them...all these kids beefing up their autotragics amuses me to some sad degree.
