VERY interesting.... that means that they actually add MORE advance at low revs and high load, then take some away, then add it back at about 1700 rpms... weird...

then it goes as high as 16 deg btdc at 4096 rpms, and drops back to 11 at 4352 then bounces back up to 17.9... this has to be one of the weirdest ignition maps ever...

but the whole thing should be easily duplicated... so when we get the stock ignition back in, we'll use this table (minus some of the weirdnesses) as a base

EDIT: another interesting note, if this table was extracted right, then sometimes trailing fires FIRST.... extremely weird.

Another EDIT: OH yeah, and jason, if this ignition table is accurate, they're bringing in a LOT of advance at low revs, which would explain why you thought low revs didn't have enough power, but high revs did... at high revs we're running slightly more advance than stock, and at low revs we're running a lot less... Oh well, EGT will give us a much better map than stock

also, the second thread you posted doesn't agree with the factory timing tables from the first... and we can't really exactly use the table directly... we're still going to have to play with things because we don't know what vacuum values the factory ECU was using for vacuum advance.

I'm about to start working with Kearney Automotive in Capitol Heights. They build SCCA race rotaries. They mainly do FBs and FCs but we're gonna start an FD project using my FD.

Yes, I have no doubt that we will have to pioneer the ignition tables here.

Be warned that the posted ignition table is for a turbo, so only half that map is relivant to us.

This kind of trash that shops pull is EXACTLY why I dont take my cars into shops anymore. And EXACTLY why I'd want to start my own.

Just left Kearney Automotive, they have some nice cars in that place (68 Jaguar, tube frame FC, RX-3 with 84 wins and 5 championships). Plus they build more than just rotaries but rotaries are their main thing. The owners are real cool not big headed or anything. I'm taking my FD housings to them tomorrow between 4-5pm.

anyone know a good cheap glass shop in MoCo? windshield in my supra needs to be replaced due to steadily growing crack on passenger side.
