Shut ye hole suds!
Anywho, I do however have some GOOD news. I was able to argue with a judge (yelling actually) and talked him into a few reskeds and a few points off the license. So I now have a legal license again, and only 7 points.
had to pay $1479.00 tho'
All for the love of the sport!

If the metal is thin then yes, you need to tig weld it, mainly just to get the really fine control of the current to keep from burning through the metal.

TIG welding aluminum is a pain in the ***.... (solder? wtf? you just need the right filler rod depending on the aluminum alloy you're welding).,.. the problem I ran into was that the damned filler kept balling up and falling off before I got it to the puddle... I figured out how to get it to work though... for me I kinda had to jab it right at the edge of the puddle really fast, and make sure I didn't take it out of the sheilding gas (contamination from having the hot aluminum filler rod out of the sheilding gas causes the ball-up).
