I've got an industrial machine - it'll sew through your HAND if you're not careful - it was really bad when my wife's sewing machine had more horsepower than my TABLESAW - so I got a bigger saw

Anyway - it sews leather great - up to about 6 layers anyway ( it'll do 12 layers of canvas ) at up to 600 stitches / minute. For small projects, it's available. Bigger projects would have to be negotiated (like seats). I'm in Lutherville (Greenspring Ave).

The shop idea is good - biggest hurdle (any small business) is being under-capitalized in the beginning.

We need a CNC mill for porting. Perfect ports every time.

Only 50K... Best thing is if you get em by a certain brand name... "Bridgeport"

Well, I'm not going to rush this, I still have the tail end of classess to work on, and I gotta move, and rushing is going to make mistakes happen, and a mistake I make while operating a shop is going to hurt a lot more people then myself. (Customers, Employees, Investors)

And I'm heading off to the Dominican Republic/Hatian border to biuld houses/hospitals/churches/whatever they need help with in june, so I really wont be all there till I get back.

I have $650 left to raise for the trip

Anyone wanna help? Contact me

Julian and I are down for the shop thing, we're working on getting our tuning acts together so we can specialize in tuning.

Tofu's car is my first megasquirt. I've had a few bumps here and there, but it starts up real quick and idles real well. I just have to sort out some common-ground issues so that the temp sensors work right once they heat up, and we'll be well on our way to a good tune.

Edit:

Oh yeah, and I'll donate you some money. I'm feeling generous

Well it's over to my house now, so it ran well enough to get it there (I did a VERY rough tune manually without looking at any datalogs to get it over there). It stalled several times, but started right back up whenever it stalled)

I have a common ground issue to take care of (I need to ground the sensors to the megasquirt, or ground the sensors and the megasquirt to the same place), that is affecting my tuning efforts, so I'm going to fix that tonight or tomorrow evening, and we'll be back to tuning again tomorrow.

In addition, I took a look at the datalogs yesterday, and figured out the stalling issue, so that'll be gone tomorrow as well. (It was stalling whenever the throttle was lifted really fast, because that'd cause a really high vacuum (low kPa) and the map at that point was too lean (afr was jumping to like 15:1, apparently death for a rotary at low or falling revs). I richened it up, so it shouldn't stall anymore.

Spark advance is working perfectly now, so I just have to fix the temp sensors (so they report correct temp, and don't trick the megasquirt into ending its warmup enrichments too soon), and then I can really start tuning.

I'll surely keep you in mind.. I just gotta find a good spot to buy the meterials and thread.. I am looking at leather and ployiester (sp i hate english).. A white boot will be my first one to make.. making two.. cuz my friend is going to use it in his auto Nissan Sentra.. Just for advertising it for me.. and of course i'll make them cheaper than what the mega market sells it.. :-D

If you join SCCA racing you get a sponser from Tire Rack but you have to run their banner in the front window.
