you wont see the dust...it all gets sucked into your engine where its burned off.
if you have dirt that ever just randomly leaves a coating on the inside of yer intake manifold...ye in BIG trouble (this exludes PCV systems.as they will leave a sooty oil residue)

dude... some people run with just screens over their turbos... it doesn't really matter too much... it's not the horribly bad thing you're making it out to be.

you can run open air if you want...just wont be the cleanest air. just saying the foams ones disintegrate and yer engine ends up eating them. and the residue is usually from something else other than ambient air being pulled in...unless yer going mudbogging with NO filter :-p

not to bring down the kills list but ive beaten more ricers and their turbocharged cars in my STOCK 92 base model toyota Tacoma. then theres the time i beat a Dodge viper in my old 83 toyota tercel hatchback(not lying...the guy didnt know how to drive)

correction: the truck has a drop-in K&N air filter upgrade...that is all

Yeh, Apex'i filters are cool. I dont like K&N filters. I'm not a firm beliver that paper/cotton filters are bad (They arent, theres almost no pressure drop from running paper filter or no filter)

Airbox size/location/piping is what matters.

I've heard you want to go with OEM mazda apex seals. that's what mine has and it took like 17 psi fine with stock fuel levels for a while (don't ask)

I run 3mm mazda racing seals in my turbo vert but i also plan to run 15lbs daily on pump with option of turning it up to 20lbs. After I get water injection setup and tuned I will run 18-25 daily.
