HELP!!! Anybody on the Peninsula have a MAZDA Pilot Bearing Removal tool I can RENT, Borrow, etc? I've tried one from SnapOn, Craftsman Etc. None of them will grab onto it. I really don't want to spend $125 for one from the dealer.

The snap on one will work if you use the correct fingers.

I was told by others on the SA22C email list that you could use the snapon puller but you had to grind a little off the fingers. I have never seen the tool so I don't know for sure. I am just relating what others have told me.

Yeah, I work for a dealership, but not a Mazda dealer. I have Honda and Dodge Stuff. I borrowed a couple of pullers from my shop, but they didn't work either. The one for Viper was the closest. The fingers were tapered enough, but were too long(wide) to get down into the Mazda bearing. I could have ground down the fingers and made it work, but Viper specialty tools make Mazda ones look like they came from the Dollar store. Needless to say, I wasn't trying to risk a weeks pay. I'm looking through the snapon catalog for another tip that will work. Hopefully that will only cost me about $50

For what it is worth... I believe in something Felix always says on his web site and on the first gen mail list. If the pilot bearing is in good shape.. leave it alone. The chances of damaging one while removing and installing them are failrly high if you aren't careful.

Ok ladies , I believe I am back up on the road and ready for nent Wensday Wacky at Langley. With the help of a good friend we removed about 20 ' of uneeeded wirring , and tried to make things a lot simplier . When I bought this car the wirring harness had been cut in several times and spliced into at other places for no clear reason . It needs a bomp to correct everything , but we are good for now

People on that RX7-meet-up thing have suggested Spet 18th as a date to get together. Suggested going to Will's shop again... well. The date is good. I suggested going to the WWW on 9/1 and whoever is there decide what we are doing. Here is what I suggested there.........

How about we all go the Wild Wacky Wednesday (9/1) thing at Langley Speedway ( http://langleyspeedway.c om/wild.htm for info) and figure out what we are going to do. One of us plans to be racing. There we decide where we are meeting on the 18th. Since I may not be able to go, someone go and let those of us who didn't go know what was decided on.
I plan to go to my "other car club" meeting that night. I think Sept 18th is a good date, just you guys decide where. I might suggest possibility of the following:

Hooters on Battlefield again.... Worked before...

Going to AIK (American Indoor Karting http://www.gforcekarts.com/index2.htm )

going to someone's house, cookout or whatever

Topeka's on the Penninsula near the AMC24 movie theaters.

Pick one, let me know what date and I will arrange what needs to be arranged.

Hey VA, there is no website for them yet they said, its in the works. Also this Sunday, we will be having a labor day cookout/bash at Autodemics from noon until whenever. All RX-7/Supra owners are invited, please contact me via email or message me cause if we could we need a count just to have an idea of how many people are coming down. Just consider it a RX-7 meet-up finally. Hope to hear from EVERYBODY, if possible I need to know by thursday. Thanks guys and gals for all the support last night , I had a blast and it sure sounded like you did . The car is fast and the driver is getting better . After we get a few more quirks out of the system and get the car dialed in for the track we should really see some good lap times . sorry i havent really kept up with the forum, my computer has been on the fritz, so i formated it. I have all my parts now, and i will be building the turbo II motor today, and should have it up and running this weekend. If anyone has a subscription to RX Tuner the Aug issue will have my car in it. for those of you who didnt see the new paint job yet.
