Hampton Roads (SE Virginia) Rotary Club
i guess the N/a guys under hood space would be prime real estate... charge the turbo freaks to use it....10 bucks per half cubic foot muhahahahaha. im claiming the area between the exhaust ports.. keep it crispy on both side... on the flipside we have downpipes. we all have enough multicolored downpipes to know they get hot enough
I haven't been pushing a time or place yet. I had hoped we would hear from Randy about a place and time. But since we haven't, I am personally kind of booked up the next coupld of weekends with autocross and other car stuff. I am usually the one that jsut says a time and place, but since I was busy and might not show up I haven't. We did decide we wanted to have the meeting on a weekend though and picked the Topeka's near the AMC 24 theaters just off I-64 on the Peninsula. I would suggest August 21st. I am about 50-50 as to if I can make that day, but it is the best one for me. How's that? If that is OK with everyone else, I will post directions and everything.
<--thinks the world revolves around him... wait till biscuit finishes his t2.... or how about we have a "put biscuits engine in" day muhahahahah later sorry im just no help..good help is hard to find. im down for amc 24
I'm down too for the 29th at Topeka's. Just to let everyone know, Randy is on vacation in Nag's Head until tomorrow (Friday) . He'll be at work Saturday according to his dad.

or we could wait till im done with my rebuild. I'm shooting for the 28th to be done
I have the engine compartent preped for paint, and the rebuild kit is on the way. the rotors are getting machined for 3mm seals, and everything is going as planed. Ill post pics of the engine bay soon

hehehe..... Advantage to my engines.... already have 3mm apex seals. One of the secrets to their 300K mile life expectancy.
I pulled apart the first one of my spare engines the other night. It is in great condition. This particular engine had a coolant o-ring failure. I can't see any problem other than the o-ring just failed. The rotor housings look awesome, oil control seals look almost new, apex seals measure out to be as new. I am going to clean things up, do a mild street port, measure everything, maybe find someone to lap the side housings, replace apex seals (this is only a maybe) and get it together. I think this is going to be Brownie's engine. Then I am going to dissect my other two extra engines and see what I have.
Did I mention these two rotor housings are the two nicest housings I have ever seen other than new ones that were pulled new straight out of a box. I sware Mazda put lots of effort into doing things right on the GSLSE engines.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I talked to Randy today. He said the 29th would be fine at his house, along as it's after 4:30. Plan the 29th at Randy's at 5:30? Sound good to everyone? I know you can't make it calvin, but anyone else down?
well will is kicking of some mee/show thing with his shop brent of dynotuned, and some other team, and he wants my car there (if i get it done in time). So let me find out when he's doing that. I think he said the 28th, so if nothings going on the next day then im up for it.
Any of you 3rd gen guys have the service repair manual on cd? Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34226. That you could burn a copy for me?

Just remembered that I can't make the meet the 29th. That's Lunatic Luau weekend, and I can't miss that. Already got tickets and set to go. Sorry, maybe next month.

I can actually probably make 5:30 at Randy's. I shoud be done with the autocross that weekend. All my kids are going the Lunatic Luau, and they would not let me go. None of them wanted anything resembling a "parent" where they are all partying.
Back Again, Most Saturdays after 7 pm or Sundays after 5 pm are good for me. Working 6 and 1/2 days a week sucks................... I do have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen CD's if any one wants one I can burn and bring to the next meet. One other thing.... This really upsets me that there are NO RX 7's at Wacky Wednsday at Langley Speedway on wednsdays. We are tunning a car tonight hopefully for the 1 lap drag race around the track this week. A fast *** Acura won last week. He beet a friend of mines VW. Brian is the only one I have ever seen there. If you dont want to race it is usually alot of fun when 1 of those 5.0's goes into the wall...
Later Randy
