Hampton Roads (SE Virginia) Rotary Club
I didn't make it to the Wacky Wednesday because of kids repsonsibility. Next week maybe.
Jimdog, I had planned on attending, but I went to get new tires and none of the size I wanted were available in time for the event. I am not sure I can get my old tires past tech (they officially should not pass). So.... unless I can come up with something else I will probably not run now.

Anyone have a spring compressor for the front suspension? If you do, I'll put my Koni's in this weekend, and I'll be there Wednesday.....this time to race.
Bryan
PS I wanna see Randy's dodge flingin mud and rippin up someone else's truck up. That'd be too funny.

I have spring compressors that do the job ok. You can also get them as loaners from Autozone and/or Advance Auto Parts (at least you could in the recent past I think they still do the tool loan program). It is not that hard to do either way. I did all 4 (including changing shocks) in an evening after work.
To run well you will also need some decent tires/wheels. If there is any single thing that will make a differance in how fast you can go there, it is tires and a year or so of autocrossing.

Devils FC3,
My brother just had his car painted by Maco in hampton. All they did was sand and paint, for 250.00 He did a quick job on the body work, but the paint job looks real good for that amount.. If you take your time on the body work it should look real good.Call Dale down there he is also an Autocrosser.....Any final answers on the next meeting???????

well i signed up, but it doesnt say where in Norfolk the meeting is going to be, so the 18th of sept, but where. I'm down for that, because if my car isnt done by then im going to shoot myself.
on topic for area/semi-off topic on subject
Sorry that I haven't made it to a meet since the one a few months back at Hooters on Battlefield. I have had a lot on my plate with a job and what not.
Hope you can point me in the right direction though.
I have an 87 Pontiac Fiero GT that was given to me. I am trying to find someone that can swap the engine out for me. Nothing out of the ordinary--just replacing the stock 2.8 with another 2.8. I know that there are a number of places in tidewater that do engine swaps, but want one that is reputable. Price is a consideration, but I am willing to pay a little more for someone who does a good job.
If you have any ideas, I would really appreciate a lot.
BTW--some of you may remember that I was looking for some wheels to replace my ugly phone dials and I found a bargain set of 5 spoke wheels (14 inch) on eBay. Put a set of Falken Azenis on them. They are sticky and much better looking. Now I can't wait to get it on the track or at the autocross.
Have a great sunday!!!

well in the meetup for norfolk, I'm just trying to get as many 7 owners to sign up to it, and then we can all decide on what and where, so lets have the good times keep rolling and get everyone to sign up.
Hey Guys, Long time...
Randy, I did get your PM. I am still around, just real busy and not working in NN anymore. My 7 is in the shop right now getting brought back to life. Should be about 2-3 weeks before it's back on the road.
Most of you don't know me, but a couple of you do(renagade_rotary, T2goesfast, anyone else regularly around Randy's Garage). My name is Jay and I have a White '88 Vert (dead for the past 9 months, currently undergoing resurection) I live and work in Williamsburg. Now that I am FINALLY getting the 7 sorted out, I would realy like to become a little more active with your guys. Anyway, I'll be around. I look forward to seeing you all again.
oh yeah, before you can ask.... Randy, my headlight Intake cover won't look better on your AE, and NO you can't have it.
