95 south of the beltway was a parking lot this morning at like 7:30am... I don't even WANT to think about what 66 looks like this evening..

For me I rarely take 66 in the afternoon. Take the access road to Dulles, drive the AOA over to 50. I can leave Arlington area and be home in a little over an hour. Now going to town center is easy. Scoot over to 7 and head on in. Should be about an hour or so. Tonight looks like the rain will wash it out. Pretty decent cells floating around.

Also never try anything after 0630. It's all a parking lot. 66 is usually best Friday morning. But hell starting around noon.

I need to setup boost control in the megasquirt before I can make a real opinion. It's not as night and day as I thought it was going to be currently on the waste gate spring.

If you count runs with cones which I do me and an organizer I let drive it both ran over a second faster than anyone else. Only 6 tenths faster counting cones.

Hey man, progress is progress

How much boost are you running now (and I am guessing that you are running off wastegate spring?), how much boost were you running on the last turbo?

Might look slow on the video, but the numbers speak for themselves!

yeah, it's running off a 10 psi wastegate spring. It's currently running 8 psi and then falling off to 5 psi... probably don't have it pre-loaded enough.

the last turbo was creeping quite a bit, with an 8.5 psi actuator, I think it was about 10-12 psi. that and the old turbo is more efficient at lower boost levels, which helps. the 7670 is really a high boost turbo.

with the new gears (4.56s vs. old 5.14s) and the lower boost it's noticeably slower.

You'll get more overspray if it's cold out or if you hold the gun too far from the work surface. Somewhere between 6-10" is optimal. Too far away and the product dries in-flight and won't adhere properly and makes a mess.

Yup, the yellow is a stand-alone color, perhaps with their new "color juice" mixed with the stand-alone color, it will cover faster/quicker?

I am sure that there is lots of room for improvement in dialing the paint gun. We were spraying about 8in from the car/body panels, maybe spray closer to the 6in instead of 8in?

I am sure that with practice, things will get better. I am considering plasti dipping my motorcycle "race fairings"; but I am suffering of too much want, and not enough time/capital to do it

Also Also, any of you guys go to Bonchon on Sunday nights? I'm usually there with all the MS3 and MS6 guys, be nice to see some of you out there.

Just wonder if there is any Mazda/rotary meets in the area. Weekly or monthly etc. And I know there was the spring cruise I just saw that I missed it. O well. Just wondering if there's anything going. NOVA kinda sucks. Only rich kids with mommy and daddys cars. Looking for some rotary guys and gals. Thank you

There will be another cruise later on in the fall, so no worries there. I think there is a weekly car meet on the western side of the beltway, Chick-fila I believe, but I've never been. I tend to hate stupid people when they gather in large groups though, so I avoid most car scene stuff

Hey everyone - hope you all are well.

Finally getting around to fixing my loose shifter. Maybe it'll be done by the Fall cruise. Quick easy question: how do I slip on this boot with the small top hole over the thick bulge, other than sheer force? Any secrets? Grease? Liquid wrench? I really don't want to rip it.

Also, I didn't take a pic or note how the lever sits before disassembly. Could someone please verify for me if the slight bend should angle toward the rear? It looks like it from the picture in the manual and it may be obvious once I'm in the cockpit but I'm not there.

you can grease it a bit, but it just stretches over...

on FCs there is a notch in the larger ball of the shifter so it can only go in one way. not sure if FDs are the same.
