Hey all, I just got my FD delivered last Wednesday ('94 stock R2 Red/Black) and titled it Friday. I'm near Tysons Corner in NoVA. I'm going to try to make the IHOP meet and ECRC (at least the looking-around and maybe the "rotorcade").
I posted in the New Member Intro section just before I bought it, plus a newbie question to help me narrow down between the '94 R2 and a black '93 Touring that was also for sale with similar mileage on the other side of South Carolina (I found mine near Greenville, and the other was in Myrtle Beach). If I can't make this one, I'll definitely make it to a C&C at some point soon. There's a street-parked FA in my neighborhood with an antique plate but I can't remember seeing another FD in 10 years of living in the area.
<edit>oops, just realized I posted above in this same thread</edit>
Hi all! I've been a member here for quite a while, but cycled through about two dozen cars before I found myself back here with an FD. I'm in the Fairfax Station area and would really appreciate it if someone had time to come by and take a look at a 93 lhd fd that was delivered to my house a few days ago. The car is in rough condition and was most likely sitting for over a year, I've tried to start her up but am almost 100% sure that the vacuum lines aren't routed properly and there may/may not be some electrical connections open in the engine bay. Besides the fact that we know what happens when these cars sit for a while, I have a faint glimmer of it just being a neglected car that still has a decent engine.
The car has a power fc and that's about all the information I have. It turns over, almost started (hiccuped and turned back off).
Is anyone available (anytime, this week, this month, this year, etc) to take a look at this and let me know where to start? There is food/drinks/cash in it for your valuable time.
Jay thats nice! Def a stock keeper. I could see the value appreciating someday on that one.
Thanks, Brent! I feel pretty fortunate to have found it. I didn't buy it as an investment; I'm looking enjoy it (gently except for the accelerator) for many, many years to come, hopefully.
Where in MD are you? I'm closer to more of MD than I am to most of VA (and traffic sucks no matter what side of the Potomac I find myself on).

Excellent. Im in southern md. Waldorf to Pax are my usual stomping grounds.
Selfishly hoping for a rain date - between my conference that I can't get out of and a possible Nationals Game 5, I likely won't be able to make it. Now if the weather and baseball gods are on my side, I'll see y'all in the afternoon....
Yeah, shame it's a bust. Maybe we can squeeze in a cruise before salt and snow hit the ground but otherwise it's looking like time to put the cars into hibernation.
Looks to be nice after 1:30 today... that said im going to bow out. I was hoping to be there early and be leaving by around then which would mean all rain for me.
It was a cool and relaxed meet. The track time was fun as well, I had an off by the bridge and puckered a bit but I made it back on before hitting the tire wall and there was no damage.
I’m glad I went and will try to make it again next year.
I met a few new long time members from the forum too, always a bonus.

DR's got a lot of close walls and forget threshold braking down the main straight (unless you have no fear) as there's a wall some 20 feet from the turn

Calling it already Rocky? C'mon man! Supposed to be a nice weekend - anyone want to take advantage of the extra hour we'll get on Sunday and get up to meet at the Gainesville IHOP at 9 or 10 am and pretend we're driving to Shenandoah - but maybe just drive over to Old Busthead at 1130 (they open at noon)?
