In the RX-7? That would be amazing - on so many levels.
Oh god no!!
I towed the FD out there with my truck and an enclosed trailer. I left the trailer there because paying for storage would be cheaper than the fuel costs to drag an empty trailer home and back out again
I have 9 months of storage until I break even... ^_^
@Zoolander and it was done before, called break in mileage! :P
The problem with that is it neglects a bunch of heat cycles and rpm/load doesnt vary all that much
I think I'll do mine with 20 mile/day jaunts around the backroads after work, and longer drives on the weekends. It should be good in about a month after delivery
Where was your car at Peter? I just got home last night after driving to California and back. It was an AMAZING drive, but I wouldn't recommend a 7-day "out and back" to anybody else!!
Man, I made a 25 hour haul out to Indiana and back to pickup my first FD, I woke up at 5AM the day I left, worked a full day, and then left at 10PM to get the car driving through the night. I brought a friend who was supposed to do some of the driving while allowing me time to rest but he only did about an hour and was sick for the rest of the trip. It was exhilarating but miserable. 7 days coast to coast round trip just sounds brutal.
You with a running and driving FD is going to be a sight to see!

That does sound pretty horrible! I worked a regular day on Thursday but only drove down to Norfolk on Thursday night. Driving 14 hours a day in 3-hour shifts is a tually pretty doable. But yeah, I was definitely (more) useless for a few days after I got home!!
I know right?!?! I'm not sure what I'll do with myself once it's running again, lol
You can take it apart again and blame it on wiring! :P
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have more sunk into new wiring than most FC owners have in their original purchase PLUS mods... If this wiring goes bad in less than a decade then there will be some serious problems, lol!
Great weather this weekend - who's up for a reasonably timed CnC tomorrow morning, maybe one that ends at 10 so we can show up at 9 (instead of the regular 7-9 am)? My FD needs to get out. Or even just meeting somewhere for lunch or a few brews at a brewery.

CA to DC and back?! I had to do that in my old FD. Going solo it wasn’t too bad. Best day was when I saw semi’s having issues. I randomly stopped for the day and nearly got blown over by the wind when I got out of my car. The concrete barrier and FD design prevented my from feeling the wind in the car all day. Made it a fun day in retrospect!
Anyone know any good places near woodbridge for the stuff below?
Place to get tires mounted a balanced
Place to get fenders rolled
Place to paint a bumper
Ptunning in Manassas can get the tires mounted (they have a machine that does not mark your wheels when mounting the tires), would only recommend if you have pristine wheels. I believe they also do the rolling of fenders...
I rent a fender roller and heat gun if you want to save some $ and tackle it yourself. I also know a place that can do the paint and body at great pricing for great quality in Manassas.

While it doesnt look hard, i dont trust myself to try it on the FD first lol. I'd rather try it out on my audi first instead of the fd lol. But if you could shoot my the contact info for the paint shop, that would be great.
Hey all. I met a local VA FD owner at a Cars and Coffee Sunday morning who directed me to post in this section. I just moved to VA from CT in April and wanted to say hey. 😊 It's been really nice to meet several FD owners in this region. Those I've met have been so nice!
