My brake rebuild is still giving me delays, but I think I can be ready for a later in april date!

 

The last weekend in April is also the Apple festival in Winchester. I think they have a car show one of the days. Might be a possibility to go check out.

 

Apple Blossom Festival is 4/22-5/1. Apple Blossom Car Show itself is Sunday 5/1. Is a Cruise in Car Show, 8am-5pm, Jim Barnett Park, 1001 E. Cork St., Winchester Va. Billybiceps

 

Anyone been to that show before? is it worth stopping by?

 

Never been. But they are having a midway for carnival stuffs out there. So can't be all bad.

I'm ready to call it for 5/1 if someone else can step up and run the show. Unfortunately, since starting this thread my schedule has changed and I will not be able to make that weekend. As long as someone is willing to be the point man, it looks like the 1st has the mandate.

Stopping by the car-show sounds like a really cool addition. Depending how it goes, maybe we will start planning to coincide with it every year.

Been spying this thread and I am glad it's Sunday May 1st, but I too feel it isn't a cruise without the point-man. Rocky, I know you'd love for someone to take over some of these functions, but as Levi said, this is YOUR function. A later date in May would be fine with me. It'll still be spring.

Sorry I havent responded, I've been busy beyond belief.

I like to think that the cruise is all of ours together as a group. I mean, Justin started it after all. I just have kept it going. But, if you are insistent on having me there, the new date is the 15th of May. Hopefully all the cars will be ready to go then.

The 15th sounds good. That gives me more time to get my car done and if means we have to put up with you I guess it's a small sacrifice to make

I should be good for the 15th. (Hopefully I'll be feeling okay after a birthday event the night before.)

As for route, I'd like to throw out another option - Harpers Ferry and Dirt Farm Brewery? I went out to HF recently and really enjoyed the drive (once you got out into the country). The roads were nice without much traffic. The only issue is that parking at HF isn't very ample if we wanted to grab lunch there. It's also a small sleepy town so an influx of loud imports will draw a lot of attention. Between 66 and HF is Dirt Farm Brewery, which I've heard good things about. Dirt Farm Brewing | Beer Brewing I'm not familiar with the roads to get there however. If anyone's been there and can vouch for the roads and parking, please chime in. Maybe we can do the normal route and then hit up this brewery instead of that other usual one? Just a thought.

Wooo, I'm back to having some free time. I worked 352 hours last month so I've been a little preoccupied. You've all got my attention now so lets do this thing. I should be able to find some time to re-register and pass emissions before the date so lets set it:

May 15 @ IHOP: 7495 Iron Bar Ln, Gainesville, VA 20155. 0845 for food. Departure time will be 1000, if you aren't there for food be there EARLY. 1000 is departure from parking lot time, not arrival to lot time. I'd suggest you show at 0945 so we can go over the route/cars etc.
