Mindtrain header primary length

Just curious if anyone had a rough idea what the Mindtrain header effective length was? I remember reading a few posts on here comparing the mindtrain and the racing beat header and i recall people said the mindtrain did have a slight power advantage. upon looking at pictures of the mind train header it appears to be significantly shorter than the RB header. Any opinions?

I just picked up an old formula mazda header that looks to have about a 16.5 inch primary length with 1 7/8" primary ID. I'm planning on trying to make it fit in a stockport s5 . . .

I appreciate any help/ideas

The header appears shorter, but it's also all curves and the collector collects at a very steep angle.

My formula mazda header does have a steeper collector angle than my racing beat. Do you think the mindtrain header makes more power because of the collector? I'm not exactly thrilled with the RB collector.

I was reading on the formula mazda website that their motors are limited to 6900rpm. It is interesting that their headers are so short for such a low rpm limit. All the traditional forum knowledge says you need twice the fm header length for a low reving stock or street port. What gives? Maybe it's just a packaging issue for them but the cars make good power

have you seen a formula mazda? the exhaust comes out of the engine and wraps around the back of the car, and sometimes they add a second muffler which goes forward on the opposite side.

i'd think the 16.5" is more to fit it in the car, but it probably does fine in the power dept.

Have you got a pic of the header ? I just had a really quick read on the fm site, 6900rpm limit with 180hp, Is that with stock port's and short header's ?? Sorry if that's off topic.

Stock 6 port, that header, Weber DCOE in a wraparound manifold, and a rev limiter via MSD chip.

I was planning on cutting the header just aft of the collector and possibly adding a short expansion/megaphone. I like how the primaries come off the flange. It is a much better design in that aspect than the Racing Beat header.

This was the sellers picture

I believe I have a mindtrain header on my car. I can grab pics and attempt to measure it. Or you can buy it and measure it yourself!
