You should see the list my wife just made of all the stuff she thinks I need to bring.
I think I better tow the car and bring the truck
Dave, I'll try to hold some places. I get there Thursday evening so I'll see what I can
do. Maybe I'll put my stuff out (table, chairs and car) to maximize the space I use
so some spots can stay open for the Friday arrivals.
Brett can we all take showers at your grand parents? I can offer homemade beer or
cider in return.
48 hours until blast off for the Mitty!

Chief, I'd love to see some photos of that packed Miata, occupants included.
"Brett can we all take showers at your grand parents? I can offer homemade beer or

Tim, we are having a special on hot showers at our place this week only:
@@@@@ One home made oatmeal stout will buy you one hot shower @@@@@
A couple more and Cathy will make you one of her most excellent home made meals
And Brett needs to get the Gatorade bucket for that comment.

Engine, oil coolers, turbo, wastegate, and chassis harness are back in the car. Master cylinders and lines going in next as well as hooking the steering shaft up again. Taking a 15 minute break to cool down. It is a hot one out there today.
Thanks Tim. I am still hoping to get done in time, just wanted to stay close to the beer.

No Ray, your check never showed up for the car so I went with the TGM color above.
Brake and clutch masters are back in. All lines hooked up.Drivers side engine harness and power harness is in. Done eating dinner and back out to see if I can get it running tonight and **** the neighbors off even more.
Sorry for the play by play. Gives me a way to vent stress
Dave

Headed out to get oil. Forgot to get some earlier and couldn't start it last night. Then bleed the brakes, put the hatch back on and head to the booth for tape up. This weather isn't going to help me out. Humidity is not good for painting.

Mike, I hope you make it Friday. Work can wait, you have beer to drink and cars to watch.
Heres my personal schedule (could change without notice)
Thursday - arrive, setup camp, enjoy the sunset and have a cold brew
Friday - Cracker Barrel breakfast, wander around the Mitty tents, bbq some brats
for lunch, if theres a parade lap do that, watch racing, go to the free Mazda
key party for food and some cold brew.
Saturday - Cracker Barrel breakfast, wander around the Mitty tents, bbq some brats
for lunch, if theres a parade lap do that, watch racing, go to the free Hella day into
night party for food and some cold brew (see the patterns here )
Sunday - Cracker Barrel breakfast, await DGRR folks, attempt record breaking parade
lap, bbq some lunch, watch some racin, head for home around 3 p.m.
Throughout any of this time I may break out my stout and cider for impromptu
tastings and debauchery. You've been warned.

Got the car fired up on the second try.( had the Crank sensors reversed.) Problem I ran into is that the coolant was not flowing to the radiator. Super pressurizing the upper hose and overheating the coolant. Checked the system for blockage( air blows thru freely) Pulled the thermostat and it looked like poop. Just got a new one and inspecting the water pump fins themselves.
Hard to believe something goes bad like that. I hope it is just a easy thermostat fix. Weather is not looking good for paint tomorrow here. Hard rain storms and high humidity don't make for good painting weather unless you have an uber $$ booth.. I do not It may be iffy whether the exterior gets painted by Mitty. Won't help the sale at all

Well I have to admit defeat in getting the exterior painted. The car still just shoots up in temp once it starts warming up and pressurizes the hell out of the rad. Hoping there is just a big air bubble trapped somewhere. Until this is fixed I can't drive it to the booth
Replaced the water pump with another one I had here as a bolt broke when I removed it. Now all my efforts are to just to get the car running properly and get down there with a sanded craptatic exterior. Damnit!
tim- I like the warning on your lack of will power to stay clear of the homebrew. It should be listened to.

I'd love to come out tonight but I'll be working tomorrow morning and more than likely a good portion of the afternoon.
I had my last final yesterday evening, so I'm back to a full-time working man now
I didn't plan on doing anything to the FC before coming out, but last night I ended up changing the oil, pulling all the plugs
and cleaning them, topping off all the fluids, and killing one of the annoying idiot lights that's been stuck on for the last few
weeks. I'd like to sand down the chunks of bondo on my rear quarter panel (guess who learned how to bondo on an RX7...)
before anyone respectable sees them, but I don't think there will be time for that.
Look forward to seeing you all Friday.
I don't know where we're camping but I should be alright if I follow the rotary fumes and oil smoke...

I'm busy packing as we speak. I'm bring 24 beers and 9 ciders. That should hold us for bit.
I'll heading out within the hour. Anyone who wants to exchange cell phone numbers
PM me before 2:45 and I'll make a note of them.
Looks like Friday may be a light turnout, but saturday will be the full crew and then
some more on Sunday. Can't wait.

Woohoo! Heading out now. Anyone that wants to get a hold of me, just PM ray green,
msimonov or BigIslandSevens for my cell phone. I may not answer for the next
3 hours due the excellent rotary symphony and open windows of my car but leave
a message and I can call you back around 6:30 or so.
If anyone wants to get a quick bite to eat around Braselton tonight I'm all ears.
I should be available after 7 sometime.

I found some free wifi downthe street from the track so I can report in.
Ray graciously offered me dinner last night and it was very delicious. His wife Cathy
deserves a big nod for making the dinner and putting up with another rotorhead.
I'll post pics of camp later.
Dave give me a call when you head out and leave a message if I don't answer.
I'm camped so far in the exact spot I was in last year but a spot under the track
edge trees opened up when I left for breakfast so I may move camp over there
but its only 25 feet away.
