Wow sorry to hear that RD, I hope she's feeling better. Be real careful getting up here!

We need you Texans to balance out all those guys coming from Michigan.

Here is a pic of the enginebay that just got cleared this morning. I have had the flu for about 2 weeks and been going hard at it in the shop for 3 weeks until at least 1 AM everynight. It caught up to me last night while spraying color and I got sick just as I finished my first color coat. Finished color and clear this morning. I am trying like hell to get the car into the booth tonight and spray it first thing in the AM. leaving myself very little wiggle room to make it by Thursday night/Friday AM. Gonna be tight. I hope I make it down in time.

Getting the #63 Gatorade race car finished up. I'll give a HANS hat to the first person that sees me on Sunday and shows me video of it on the racetrack.

Dave, take your time and don't get sick over it. We're there all weekend long.

No problem Holly, I'll use my trusty $30.00 video setup I used at B3R and get a vid
of that classic.

Is this video quality ok?

Got some bad news to report.

We had a small party at my house and some asswipe :cuss: (me ) got into
the stout and drank a case or so. I still have ~40 bottles left so all is not lost.

I don't plan on drinking any until the weekend, I swear, really.

Tim, you drank all the beer?

OK, so we're back to Coors Light. I've had bigger problems.

Look what I found, an actual picture of the Man Himself

Say Dave, is it too late to get you to paint that thing white? What kind of gas mileage do you get with it out on the highway?

There's still time. Fix that thing and come on down. We can do necessary repairs here to get you back to Michigan.

Oh, the car runs, but 14 hours each way in a 1st gen with aftermarket springs and free flowing exhaust is a bit cruel.

It's called The Iron Butt Award. You and Kent can argue about whose Butt is Sorest. Along with RD and those Texas dudes.

Ray, If you want it send me a check and it will be painted any color you want Maybe not by the MItty though.

I look forward to seeing some Michigan people. I haven't seen any of them since I lived in Traverse City. Great cherries! Warm women during the winters.

well plans have changed again. The booth owner did not paint the car he was doing on Monday. This puts me in the booth Wed. Which means that all day today I am reinstalling everything in the enginebay and getting the car running again so I can spray it tomorrow and wet-sand and buff it out Thursday. Gonna be tighter than a frogs *** in water.

That Gatorade car is awsome. I enjoyed meeting the man himself at an OGTA meet in the past

Since there so many rotor heads coming to the Mitty. I'm in the market for an SA
shifter surround for a GS or limited edition interior. This is the plastic part that pops
on around the shifter and has the boot attached.

I don't need a boot but what I'm looking for is the correct surround. The correct one
has the plastic trim around the boot opening as chromed plastic. The base version
is just black. At some point I replaced my original which was in poor shape with a
junkyard find from a base model and its black . I tried painting it with the "chrome"
duplicolor stuff but it really doesn't look the same.

So if anyone has one bring it to the Mitty and lets make a deal.

I'm heading back to VA on Saturday or Sunday from Jacksonville Florida. I'm in my VW. I almost drove the Rx7 down here, now I really wish I had seen this thread prior to coming down here this past weekend.

Since I've never been to the Mitty or camped on RA, I have questions for you old folks...

What time is everyone getting there on Friday?
What time is everyone leaving on Sunday?
What all should I bring? I've got the tent/ cooler/ food/ car covered, but am I missing anything?

I've been looking forward to this for weeks...

Brett- You hit it pretty good. Maybe add to the list a small mattress or thick comforter to use as a base on the tent floor. RA is very hard Also add some TP, shampoo, sope, towel and some flip flops for the showers. The pit showers have hot water . The rest do not and turn you into mini me. Just sayin.

Tim- If you can save me spot in T3.

Good point. I actually planned to bring a hammock that's free standing for the tent, it's a good enough bed for me. As far as showering, I had no clue that RA had showers. I've got grandparents about 5 miles down the road from RA that I planned on stealing a hot shower from, but whatever's fine with me

You should see the list my wife just made of all the stuff she thinks I need to bring.
I think I better tow the car and bring the truck

Dave, I'll try to hold some places. I get there Thursday evening so I'll see what I can
do. Maybe I'll put my stuff out (table, chairs and car) to maximize the space I use
so some spots can stay open for the Friday arrivals.

Brett can we all take showers at your grand parents? I can offer homemade beer or
cider in return.

48 hours until blast off for the Mitty!
